These are products that I have used and loved this month. It could be new purchases or old re-discoveries. There won't always be one in every category, as this is not for what I've been using, but products that have really stood out and that has gotten me excited about make up and skincare. Sometimes I might include things from other categories if I feel it is worth a mention, but not always.
Another brand new highly innovative product to launch this spring! It truly is an exciting time for any beauty junkie. There's already been a lot of hype surrounding these, and I finally got my hands on my very own in the shade 7.
On the lookout for something to match my brand new pale winter skin, that also wasn't too expensive, I finally tried the Revlon ColorStay foundation, having heard raves about it for years. I've had different experiences with this foundation, on both ends of the spectrum. That being said, when I didn't like it, it was my own fault!
I started using Shu Uemura's Stage Performer primer just before christmas last year looking for something to give life back to my pale winter skin. The primer promises instant glow and radiance and as with all primers, help foundation with making your skin look flawless and perfect.
Anyone who's been in the beauty community for at least a little while will have at least heard of this product. It has become such a staple it's not too far off being a necessity such as the 8 Hour Cream or the Beauty Flash Balm.
The Porefessional is a silky silicone primer, much like Dr Brandt's Pores No More, Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch, Too Faced's Primed and Poreless and the list goes on. It's balmy texture conceals pores and imperfections, mattifies and can be worn alone or under foundation.
I spent quite a long time eyeing this baby on the internet, almost ordering from a chinese website, but never quite finding the courage. I finally did get a hold of it when a Chinese friend of mine gave it to me as a gift. I was soo excited to finally get to try a proper asian BB cream!
Just as I had decided I wasn't going to shell out on the summer collections, this collection arrives...
I received four sachets of this product to try some time ago and finally got around to giving it a go. I've never tried anything from 'Phyto' before so I was quite excited.
It finally arrived in stores last Saturday and I ran straight down to my nearest Sephora and picked one up. Even though I've only been wearing it for a few days I wanted to get a quick review up for those of you who are just as impatient as me to know what this one is like!
I recently purchased Guerlain's latest star number from their 'Sun in the City' Terracotta collection for Summer 2012. I've only had this for a few days but thought I'd still get a review up as it's limited edition and I know a lot of you are eager to know if this is worth the investment or not!
Soap & Glory has won me over yet again. Their products are on the lower end of the price range, but that doesn't mean they've skimped out on quality. The company could easily put these products into glitzy packaging and charge twice the price without anyone batting as much as an eyelash, but they don't, and that's what's so very refreshing about them!
A lovely sales assistant gave me lots and lots of samples a few weeks back including five 15ml samples of the Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion with Shea Butter. I just finished my last one so thought I'd share my thoughts with you.
This product, promising "record application", whatever that means, has been a staple in my beauty routine for about a year and a half now. Having converted fully to the everyday high SPF anti sun group, I have resorted to self tanners to provide a much needed glow to my face that otherwise leaves me looking sallow, tired and half dead.
Well, it's been quite the rollercoaster with this product, but I have to say that as we near the end of our time together, when we had our differences, I was completely in the wrong.
First of all, why doesn't eye creams ever have SPF in them? Surely this is an area we really need to protect from the harmful rays of the sun, and I always feel veary when putting my regular face sun screens all over my eyes, so if anyone could enlighten me I would love to know why!
From the Guerlain Summer 2012 Terracotta collection 'Sun in the city' comes this beautiful golden illuminator. It's already hit my local sephora here in France, not sure about the rest of the world.
This is a very sad moment for me. I am sitting here writing this, dreading the moment when I actually have to throw this in the trash and must come to the realisation that this fairytale has come to an end. Laura Mercier has quite a few "cult items" in her collection, and I have to say that personally, what I've tried so far, I've loved. Loved Loved Loved.
This is one of those life-changing products. Not just the product in on itself but the product type. I discovered this when I went on my skincare exploration adventure a little over a year ago and has since converted completely from manual granule exfoliants to mask type fruit enzyme and AHA/BHA exfoliants.
I suddenly realised that in the midst of my skincare hoarding over the last year or so, I had strangely missed out on a skincare product all together the targeted blemish clearing product. It comes in many forms, colours and names and did have me somewhat sceptical about wether or not it would actually work. I did previously own The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil, which I would apply to a cotton pad and pat onto "problem areas", but didn't really see any results. So after that I was rather sceptical, but it did feel nice to do something when I had a blemish, so when the tea tree oil ran out I thought it was an excellent occasion for me to venture out and try something else similar.
