Review: Dior Bronze Beautifying Protective Suncare SPF 50

While I've been really happy with my Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense, and did re-purchase, I was really keen to try something else as well. Dior's sunscreen has always intrigued me, if for nothing else the beautiful scent it has. It also was the only sunscreen the store I went to had available in SPF 50, so home with me it came.

The sunscreen comes in a neat small-ish golden tube with a dark brown "flip-cap" with silver 'CD' imprinted on the top. It contains 50ml of product and has an expiration date of 12 months. Dior has a rather large sunrange including most of the products you would expect, such as sunscreen for both face and body, self-tanners, tan enhancers, oils and after sun. The sunscreen for face comes in SPF 15, SPF 30 and SPF 50. As I've got the SPF 50 version and only that, this will be the only one I'll be reviewing today. Though it's likely the sunscreen will perform the same, or very similar, no matter which SPF, I can't know for sure, so do keep that in mind if you are considering going for an option with a lower SPF.

Dior's sunscreen has a wonderful scent. Anyone that's used any of Guerlain's Terracotta skin care line they come out with every summer, will find the scent very familiar. It's the intoxicating Tiare flower, and I personally love nothing more during the summer months. Such a heavy scent in a skincare product did, and does, concern me, but I haven't personally had any issues from using it. My skin isn't very sensitive though, so if your skin tends to react to heavily fragranced products this might not be the best option.

The product is white, and a bit thick, but spreads easily across the skin. Though it is white, and has a high SPF, I don't find it leaves any white-cast at all, which is rather amazing. It also sinks in well and quickly. The beautiful Neroli scent is very noticeable upon application and also lasts for a while.

All in all I've been really happy with this. I was as mentioned a slight bit worried about the heavy fragrance, but I've had no problems with it at all. I haven't gotten anything even remotely resembling a tan, and we've had wonderful weather, so I can attest it works really well at keeping the harmful rays away!

Overall I find this performs about the same as the Kiehl's, but with the added pleasure of the beautiful scent. I will say I find the Kiehl's version a bit lighter, and a bit faster absorbing, but not in a deal-breaker kind of way. For anyone looking for a nice treat this summer, or that little something extra at the beginning of your day - this is an excellent option!
