Review: Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex

I've mentioned this oil serum before and even featured it in a favourites post. I received what seemed to be a tiny sample of this last summer. It lasted a surprisingly long time, and I instantly fell in love with it. I ordered the full-sized product not long after the sample finished.

I bought this from CultBeauty at the beginning of the year I think, and must admit I was quite surprised when it arrived. It's my fault for not checking the amount, but this bottle is absolutely tiny and only holds 10ml. This makes this a really expensive little bottle as I'm used to mid-range price-point serums coming in at least 30 ml bottles for the same price.

Size aside, the full size performed just as well as the sample, and I will say that you don't need much of it at all per use. The bottle comes with a rollerball on the top that you are meant to roll across the skin on your face before blending the product across your face and neck. I've never used it like this. I've tried half heartedly, but I just personally can't get into the feeling. I apply it to my fingers and then press it into my skin. It works fine when applied this way, though I personally would prefer a dropper as I've got more control of how much I'm using. The reason for the rollerball solution is, I'm guessing, so the oil gets minimum exposure to air which keeps the active ingredients "alive" so though I personally prefer the dropper, I appreciate the thought behind this and as this is a natural product with no parabens (yay) this is probably the best solution nonetheless.

I realise I've only complained about this product so far, which isn't fair as this really is one of my favourite skincare treats. The oil is not thick, but also not so liquid it goes everywhere. As mentioned you don't need much per application, and the oil absorbs really quickly. As it is an oil it gives the skin that beautiful instant glow and luminosity that most oils give, but since this absorbs quickly you don't get the too glowing oil-slick look. Throughout the day this keeps my skin matte, but absolutely radiant. This is always what I opt for on days when I don't want to wear much make up as it makes my skin the best it can be. This, with just a bit of concealer will often be all that I need.

In terms of moisture it doesn't give too much, so this would be "safe" to use for everyone. I use this in combination with a hyaluronic acid serum and my normal/dehydrated skin loves it. I don't use this regularly as I only use it once or twice a week. I find this way when I do use it it gives my skin that amazing "boost" as mentioned above. I see this as a "take care of everything" oil/serum that balances, hydrates, evens skin tone, nourishes, replenishes.. basically every nice verb that has to do with skin care, this does a bit of every one of them.

This isn't the only oil or serum I'll have in my skincare routine, and I don't use it everyday, though I'm sure it would be lovely still if I did. I just prefer to "save" it for extra impact on the days when I do use it. I'm running low on this now and while I wasn't sure if I would pay the price for this little bottle again when I first received it, I'm absolutely sure now that I will. This has instantly become one of my favourite skincare items that I own, and that's saying a lot because I've tried quite a high number of oils and serums over the years. I would recommend this to absolutely everyone. This as it doesn't do too much of anything, but does a bit of everything so I don't think there's a skin type out there who wouldn't find this helped their skin look more healthy and frankly, absolutely fantastic!

    1. Yeah I'm really keen to try more of her products now! I love how it's all about good ingredients that work, and how the range is small and well executed - let me know if you end up trying some of the products and how you like it as I'd love to know! :) xx

    1. He he yeah that's the downside of using all-natural products lol! Yeah I don't really want to try the rest of the line as it's so expensive I'm scared I'll love it ha ha xx
