Empties: June 2014

June was a good empties month in the makeup department. I finally finished a blush I've been working on for ages, and also decided enough was enough with some other makeup items that I realised were irritating my skin. Since getting rid of them I've noticed my skin has been much better. I also finished a few products I love, so that was a bit sad, but there were also some new finds through samples that I've now purchased which is really exciting.

Bioderma - Micellaire Solution 250ml ( here )
This is my go-to makeup remover for face makeup mainly, but it's wonderful for removing eye-makeup as well. This is so gentle I can even remove eyeliner on the water line with it! I've been through countless bottles of Bioderma over the years, and will continue to use it probably forever.

Natura Bisse - Ceutical Eye Recovery Balm 5ml ( here )
This is seriously good stuff. It's a gel like balm, almost like the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour balm, but thinner. I've used this as my night time eye cream, and also sometimes during the day. It hydrates the eye area beautifully, but also works wonderful under makeup, with my concealer even staying on for longer.

La Prairie - Cellular Hydrating Serum 5ml ( here )
This is also really good stuff. This hydrates the skin really well and leaves skin feeling comfortable and nourished, but never oily. It's thin in texture and absorbs really quickly. I really like it, but can't honestly say this does too much more than say Hydraluron or Caudalie's Vinosource Hydrating Serum.

Indeed Labs - Hydraluron 30ml ( review )( here )
Speaking of! I recently reviewed this, in fact I just reviewed this so I can't think of anything new to say. I'll summarize the review and say it's wonderful and with a much nicer price tag than the La Prairie. If you don't need your skincare to be the most fabulous there is in terms of shiny packaging, then this will make your skin looks just as fabulous as any other hydrating serum.

Creme De La Mer - Creme De La Mer Moisturizing Cream 30ml ( review - here )
I've written my review on this and I've still yet to re-purchase. I am leaning towards buying another tub of this though. As much as I "know" the ingredients aren't the best, I am definitely noticing a difference in my skin since this ran out, and while it's not bad it's still less fantastic, and I think it's down to not using this cream anymore.

Emma Hardie - Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm 100ml ( review - here )
This is my last tub of this cleansing balm that changed my skincare routine forever. Never will I go back to foaming cleansers. I've moved on to the REN cleansing balm for now and I'm really happy with it. Especially as it comes in a tube, which makes everything just easier. It's also cheaper and works just as well. I do miss this though and I wouldn't be surprised if I pick up another one some time in the future. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, I still love it just as much, it's just I've used it non-stop for about two years and it's nice to use something else for a change.

Jouer - Luminizing Moisture Tint in pearl 1ml ( here )
I love this tinted moisturiser. I've recently re-stocked on my tinted moisturisers so I'll be good for a while, but this has been on my wish list for ages and hopefully I'll get around to trying the full size at some point as I've really really loved every sample I've used. If this was more easily available where I live I probably would've gotten a tube of this way back already.

La Prairie - Life Threads Ruby 1.5ml ( here )
This is a stronger scent and one reminiscent of older classics such as Chanel no 5. If you like that one, you might like this one, but for me it's a bit too much. I can still appreciate the scent, it is really classy, but it's just not for me.

Omorovicza - Complexion Perfector BB in Light 2ml ( here )
This wowed me. Every day of using this little sachet was an absolute treat and I really missed it when there was none left, and so I ordered it from Feelunique. I got a good 3 days use. I didn't want to buy a tinted moisturiser for this price, but I felt like I almost didn't have a choice - it's just too good not to have!

Omorovicza - Balancing Moisturiser 2ml ( here )
I fell in love with this one as well and really want to get the full size bottle. As Feelunique doesn't stock it, I can't get a price I like on it anywhere at the moment, but I'm hoping I'll find it on one of my next travels or that perhaps Feelunique will decide to stock it after all.

Lancome - Hydra Zen Soothing Anti-Stress Moisturising Cream SPF 15 15ml ( review ) ( here )
This is a lovely moisturiser. I used to use the Hydra Zen day and night cream when I was in my late teenage years and never had a bad word to say about them. They are basic, sure, but feel wonderful on the skin, have a calming effect and keep skin nourished and balanced.

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat 14ml ( here )
This is a fabulous fast-drying top coat. If you really hate waiting for nail polish to dry, then this just might be your new best friend. The downsize to this, I find, is that it can take some of the "extra touches" out of the polish. Seche Vite works by more or less morphing all the applied nail polish into a thick gel-like layer. In the process I find effects such as Chanel's micro shimmer gets lost. I also find I can peel off the entire layer of nail polish when I've used this. Something I love when I've used glitter polish, but it's bad for the nails and simply far too tempting. I'm onto a different top coat for now as I've used this for years, but I still love it and will probably get another bottle at some point.

Clarins - Hand and Nail Treatment Cream 50ml ( here )
Another one of these. I've written about this countless times before. I love this hand cream. It's simple, but efficient and moisturises really well without being greasy.

Fushi - Organic Calendula Oil 100ml ( here )
For once it isn't the Organic Rosehip Oil that's featured! I decided to venture out and try another oil from the Fushi range, and the Calendula Oil proved to be really good. It's been wonderful for the sensitive skin on my chest and arms, where the skin has been noticeably healthier looking and also less reactive since using this. I've already bought another bottle.

Marc Jacobs - Daisy Bubbly Shower Gel 75ml ( here )
This is ok, but nothing special. Not something I will ever buy the full-size of.

REN - Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash 50ml x 2 ( here )
This is fantastic. I've gone through quite a few of these deluxe samples, plus the full size product in the past. It's sulphate free, and feels wonderful on the skin. Cleaning it without stripping it, leaving it silky smooth. The only downside is I just don't like the smell of this, and that is the one and absolutely only reason I'm not buying the full size again.

La Prairie - Cellular Mineral Body Exfoliator 15ml ( here )
This is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. This gives a serious exfoliation, verging on hurting a little bit. But let me tell you, after using this skin is smoother than ever. I used this before self-tanning and while I don't usually get any streaking or lines, the tan was still more even, deeper and lasted longer than usual. I really want to get the full size of this.

St Tropez - Tan Applicator Mitt here )
Speaking of self-tanning. Here are my two go-to products for a summer glow. Since buying my first self-tanning mitt years ago I now can't do self-tanning without it. It makes the process so much easier, and since using it I never get a streaky or uneven tan and I don't get stained hands.

Guerlain - Terracotta Sunless Tinted Self-Tanning Gel 150ml ( here )
My self-tanning favourite. This gives the most beautiful, deep tan without drying the skin out. It lasts for 3-4 days which is a bit shorter than I'd like, but for results that's always perfect, I'll take it. I'm onto my next bottle.

Aesop - Mouthwash 500ml ( here )
I love this. I don't really know why, it doesn't do anything spectacular for my teeth compared to using other mouthwash, but it's just a nice process. I love the bottle, the flavour and it does make my teeth and gums feel clean and healthy.

Dove - Clear Tone Sheer Touch Anti-Perspirant Deodorant
I love this. It works extremely well, yet is gentle and nice to the skin.

JASON - Healthy Mouth Antiplaque & Tartar Control Tea Trea Oil & Cinnamon 119g ( here )
I was a bit apprehensive about moving to natural toothpaste, but I've loved this. It's got a fresh minty flavour and my teeth has been as healthy as ever, without using any "nasties".

BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl 50ml ( review ) ( here )
I wanted to finish this, but have decided to just get rid of it instead. I realised the consistency is thicker than it used to be, it felt uncomfortable on the skin and I think it was breaking me out. Not worth the hassle. I love this and would maybe buy this again, but in a much, much, much smaller bottle.

Make Up For Ever - Anti-Cernes Lip Liner Concealer here )
This is wonderful to use on the waterline, but it started irritating my eyes. It's probably because it's getting a bit old as it didn't use to. Nonetheless - anything that irritates my eyes of corse goes in the bin.

Cle De Peau - Concealer in Ivory 5g ( here )
This is the best concealer. Period. This finished a while ago, but I dug out what was left still and let me tell you, there's a lot of product to dig out! If you use this I really recommend bothering to get what's left with a brush cause there's almost 1/4 of product in there.

Mac - Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Peachykeen 5g ( here )
This was part of my '14 Products I Want To Use Up in 2014' and I'm so excited I finally finished it! Blushes take absolutely ages to go through and I was just about to give up, but "pushed through" and I'm happy I did. I love Peachykeen, it's a gorgeous blush, but I'll probably never buy it again as I've had it for ages.

Estee Lauder - Double Wear Foundation in 1N2 ECRU 16 30ml ( here )
I used to love this when I first got it, but I don't anymore. I don't know if it's gotten old, or if it's just that my tastes have changed. This is a very full coverage foundation with amazing lasting power. It stays put from morning until evening, no problem. It's also mattifying and should be great for anyone with really oily skin. I go for a much lighter base these days, and so this just feels way to heavy on my skin. I wanted to try and finish it, but I've decided to just get rid of it instead. I have so many foundations I love that I want to use before they expire instead.
