Empties: July 2014

July flew by way too quickly! As I mentioned in my July Favourites post, I've travelled a few times this month and also mainly been on holiday. I've taken samples with me on the trips that I've mostly thrown away. The deluxe samples I took back with me, but they are still not finished so not in this post either. This means I've got a bit less stuff than usual, but I think next month might be a big one. Now, for the products I finished this month.

Victorias Secret - Vanilla Lace Vanilla & Musk Ultra-Moisturising Hand and Body cream 200ml ( here )
This is a nice enough body lotion, but nothing special. It hydrates well, I'll give it that, and smells nicely of vanilla.

Ren - Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash 50ml ( here )
I love everything about this but the scent. I've bought the full size in the past, and if it had a smell I like, or if I suddenly start enjoying rose-scented products, I would definitely buy it again.

Clarins - Smoothing Body Scrub 75ml ( here )
This is a very nice body scrub. It's pink in colour and has little granules. It exfoliates rather well, but I find I need quite a bit to cover my whole body. This is good on all counts, but nothing extraordinary.

Elemis - Pro-Collagen Body Cream 50ml ( here )
This was a very nice body lotion. It hydrated well and absorbed fairly quickly. I didn't notice any results beyond that though.

La Roche-Posay - Serozinc 150ml ( here )
I love this. I use this as my toner every morning. The only thing I don't like about it is that the can stops spraying with still a fair amount of product left - incredibly annoying!

Biotherm - Blue Therapy Cream SPF 15 for Normal/Combination Skin  15ml ( here )
This is super nice. I use this for my afternoon cleanse, when I do that. This is when I will get back home around 5/6 in the evening and want to take my makeup off, but not do my whole "nighttime routine". I remove my makeup and apply this after. It's incredibly soothing and wonderful, plus has SPF 15 which is perfect for just a few more hours of daylight.

Rapidbrow - Eyebrow Enhancing Serum 3ml ( here )
I really like this - it really does work. I don't like, however, spending almost 40 GBP on 3ml of product. Not sure I will be buying this again. Especially as I find it only works for a while, and then kind of stops.

La Mer - The Regenerating Serum 3ml ( here )
I used this when I was away on holiday mostly and honestly didn't notice it doing much of anything at all.

La Prairie - Cellular Hydrating Serum 5ml ( here )
This however, I adore. It's hydrating and has some anti-oxidants as well, which I never say no to. It hydrates skin very well, without making it in any way greasy or more oily. It has a light consistency and absorbs very quickly. Love this, am considering buying the full size.

Chanel - Sublimage La Creme Yeux 3ml ( here )
This is a wonderful eye cream. I don't know if I want to spend this kind of money on a Chanel skincare product, but this is a seriously hydrating eye cream. If you have a really dry eye-area, like I do, this is definitely one to consider.

YSL - Top Secrets Eye Makeup Remover Bi-Phase for Sophisticated Makeup 30ml ( here )
This is one of the best eye-makeup removers I know of. I've used this before and I will certainly buy the full size again.

Aesop - Remove 100ml ( review - here )
This was quite a disappointment. It's super oily, leaving a lot of product on the skin, but barely takes any mascara off. I love Aesop products, but this is the first product by the brand I've tried that I unfortunately wasn't a big fan of.

Shiseido - Facial Cotton 60 sheets ( here )
Love these. They are way too expensive, but I can't use anything else now.

Pearl Drops - Pro-White Toothpolish 50ml ( here )
This is good. I do notice my teeth getting a bit whiter with this, but not so much so that I'm freaking out over it being finished and that I can't buy it in Norway. I'm fine, using something else for now.

Fushi - Neem Leaf 60 Capsules ( here )
I don't feature supplements really, but I like to feature my Fushi ones as they are a bit different I suppose. These especially I wanted to write a quick mention of as I really feel these make a noticeable difference in my skin. I take one every other day and if I skip them for a while I can tell. Especially when I'm having a bad skin moment - I'll take one everyday until it passes, and every time it passes way quicker than it typically would before I started taking these.

Urban Decay - De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray 118ml ( here )
I love this and have gone through so many bottles I've lost count.

Shiseido - Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Paper 10 sheets ( here )
These are just fantastic! They matte skin down without messing up your makeup at all, and then it stays that way for hours as well.

YSL - Volume Effet Vaux Cils Babydoll Mascara 2ml ( here )
I love the Babydoll mascara. It gives length, volume and is a truly black mascara. When I finally go through my mascara samples sometime next year ( ...  yes seriously) I think I'll finally buy the full size of this.

Chanel - Le Volume de Chanel Mascara 10 Noir ( review - here )
Another favourite and another one I'll definitely buy the full size of when I've gone through my "stash".

Rimmel - Lycra Pro Professional Finish 378 Posh Trash 12ml ( here )
I absolutely love these two colours, but they are old and so therefore I decided it was time to get rid of them. The Rimmel is a gorgeous shiny bronze that looks gorgeous when you've got a bit of a tan. I also love the formula of this - absolutely fantastic if you want something from the drugstore.

Maxfactor - Nailfinity 882 Angel Nails 10ml ( here )
Also love this. It's a beautiful pink tinted silver that shines and shimmers like a diamond. Absolutely stunning.

Biotherm - Biomains Age Delaying Hand & Nail Treatment 20ml ( here )
This is nice enough, but absolutely nothing special. I love the size of it though, it's been perfect for keeping in my handbag.

La Prairie Cellular Energizing Body Spray 1.5ml ( here )
This smells wonderfully fresh of citrus. I still prefer Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino, or Byredo's Palermo though.

Klorane - Dry Shampoo 150ml ( here )
This is the best dry shampoo there is. I could just leave it there - but I'll go on; It not only lets you go one, or sometimes even two more days without feeling any need for washing your hair, it also somehow makes your scalp less oily in general. So the next time after you've washed your hair, before even using this, you find yourself going a day longer before needing this as well.. How good is that?!

Bumble and Bumble - Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Creme Rinse Conditioner 7ml x 2 ( here & here )
I was super excited to try these with all the hype the Surf range gets, but was somewhat underwhelmed. When I got out of the shower my hair simply felt dry and tangled, and my hair is never like that. Now it could be that if I had let it air dry I might have had beautiful beach waves, but I instinctively put oil through my hair which brought it back to life. I think I'll rather just use my Oribe Apres Beach or Dry Texture sprays for some beach waves.

  1. Hey Ellie! Some really good products in there! I have always wondered if the Serozinc is worth the hype, having never tried it myself.. the opinion is kind of divided no? I have always wanted to try the Surf Foam range and the only thing that kept me back as most of such texturising and volumizing products is the though that it might dry my hair further and tangle it beyond rescue! That is what happened with LUSH Big with me..

    1. Hey Scoo! I've heard mostly good reviews on Serozinc, but there's been a few lukewarm ones that I've read also. I guess that's just skincare, it's always a bit different for everyone :) He he yes that's why it took me so long to try the samples I had of the surf range! I'd rather use a texturising spray and use a shampoo and conditioner that takes good care of my hair! I guess I'll stay clear of Lush Big then - thanks for the heads up!! :) xx

    1. Ha ha maybe you could have it as your reward for when you finish up all your hair or just hair styling products? ;) Even if you don't like the product (which you will, don't worry lol) the stunning bottle looks gorgeous on your vanity! :D xx
