Sorry for the picture seeming kind of flipped to the side. I didn't think of making the products face the way I would be taking the picture, rather than where I was standing when laying them out. Quite silly of me, but lesson learned! For now, if you don't mind tilting your head to the side! September has been a long month. I've gone from having just started school to starting to plan for exams already. There's also been a few personal things, a funeral, but a lot of nice experiences as well. I went to Dublin for a long weekend, which was very nice. I did a bit of shopping, eating, and visiting. I'm also a bit in "spring-cleaning" mode, or fall-cleaning as it would be. I've been clearing out closets, really trying to use body and hair care products up.. I always get this way in the fall, instead of spring. I think it might be because I still see the "new year" as starting in the fall.. I know it doesn't technically, but as a student it just makes more sense. However, this is supposed to be about empties and not my cleaning habits, so I'll shut up now and move onto the quite a few products I got through the last month!
Jason Pure Natural Hand Soap in 'Glowing Apricot' & 'Antioxidant Cranberry' 473ml x 2 ( here & here )
I love these! They are natural and free from any unwanted "nasties" including sulphates. I really notice my hands are softer and less dry when using them. These two scents are also really lovely. I have already re-purchased.
Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-IN-1 Moisture Mask & Hand Cream 125ml ( here )
This is amazing! The best night treatment hand cream I have ever used. I was just in Dublin and picked up a whole bunch to give away for christmas and to get my dry hands through winter.
Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Hand and Nail Treatment 15ml ( here )
Another fabulous hand treatment. This is incredibly expensive for a very small amount, but the product is amazing.. It smells heavenly and makes hands incredibly soft and beautiful looking come morning. I am planning to re-purchase when winter comes around.
Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream 50ml ( here )
This is also really nice. I am currently using the full-size and I'm really liking it. This is a lot less heavy of a hand cream than the other two, but is perfect for daytime use. This as it's not at all greasy and absorbs easily. It also has a non-offensive scent that just smells "clean", meaning you won't offend any noses around the office/school/wherever you go during the day. I've also noticed my always-chipping nails have gotten stronger when using this, which is a very nice bonus!
Kanebo Sensai Silky Purifying Cleansing Balm 30ml ( here )
This is a very nice cleansing balm. The 30ml size lasted me quite a while, about 2-3 weeks of use when using it both morning and night. I still prefer my REN one, but this is a good option I would definitely consider should I have any issues getting the REN Cleansing Balm.
Bioderma Solution Micellaire 500ml ( here )
Love this, will always re-purchase.
REN Rosa Centifolia No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm 100ml ( review - here )
This is my favourite cleansing balm - partly as it's in a tube so I don't have to stick my fingers in a tub. But also of course because it's just really, really good. My skin simply loves this! Onto my next tube!
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye 15ml ( review - here )
I am addicted to this stuff! It's way too expensive to be honest, but I notice a huge difference when I am not using it - the skin around my eye looks less hydrated, radiant and awake. Can't have that! I am onto my next bottle.
Dior Bronze Beautifying Protective Suncare SPF 50 50ml ( review - here )
This is a very nice SPF indeed that I enjoyed using. Especially as the Tiaré Flower scent is heavenly, especially during the summer. I am always keen to try new sunscreens so I am currently testing another one, but I wouldn't mind using this one again. It's definitely a nice one!
Aesop - Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Toner 200ml ( review - here )
My favourite toner. I am sad to have finished this. I want to re-purchase, but have decided I need to finish a few toners that are about halfway done first. It's been about 3 weeks since I used the last drop of this, and my skin is definitely missing it. I also miss the lovely relaxing scent when using this at the end of the day.
Sephora Lotus Mask Fiber Mask ( here )
This was a nice enough sheet mask. It moisturised well and left skin comfortable and plumped. It's not life-changing, but it's a nice treat, and not too expensive so something I wouldn't mind using again, but nothing I need to re-purchase either.
Caudalie Polyphenol C15 SPF20 Anti-Wrinkle Protect Fluid 15ml ( here )
This is a lovely cream. I love that it has vitamin c and is generally packed full of anti-oxidants plus provides a decent SPF20. It also smells absolutely delicious! I've bought the full size!
Shiseido Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream 7ml ( here )
This is a really nice re-texturising cream. As far as anti-ageing creams go, this is far from greasy, and I'd say this would be a nice option for anyone with oily/combination skin wanting to venture into the anti-ageing market, but without feeling like their skin is suffocating. I've used this sample as my night cream and my skin was clearer, brighter and more radiant. Highly, highly recommended!
Biotherm Blue Therapy Normal/Combination Skin Cream SPF15 15ml ( discontinued? )
This is a very nice soothing cream I use to moisturise when taking my makeup off in the middle of the day. It has an SPF15 which is enough when I'm going to bed in only a few hours. It's as mentioned very soothing and calming, perfect for what my skin needs after being out and about for the day. I'd buy the full size if the price wasn't as high as it is, unfortunately I don't think this is good enough for the price they are asking.
Garnier 7 Days Hydrating Lotion for Normal Skin 250ml ( review - here )
I love this, and have gone through countless bottles, but I've decided not to re-purchase. This only as it's got parabens and I really want to try and make an effort to avoid it from now on. If you don't mind though, this is an excellent body lotion - non-greasy, fast absorbing, but giving lots and lots of moisture.
Clarins Shower Mousse 150ml ( here )
This was quite a fun product to try. I received this as a gift, and am happy I did as it's probably not something I would've ever tried myself. The product comes out in a foam, kind of like shaving cream and then you rub that across the skin like you'd normally in the shower. It's nice and moisturising, and lasted a surprisingly long time. Unfortunately it has sulphates in it, which is another thing I'm trying to avoid, so I won't re-purchase.
Victoria's Secret Hello Darling Ultra-Moisturising Hand and Body Cream 200ml ( here )
This smells like candy! If you like that, you'll love this! It's not really my favourite scent, but I didn't mind it. The lotion itself is rather nice - moisturises well, but not too greasy and absorbs rather quickly.
Batiste Dry Shampoo A Hint of Color Medium & Brunette 200ml ( here )
This is a great dry shampoo. It's my second favourite, the Klorane being number one. I like this Batiste Dry Shampoo in particular because it is tinted - that plus it works really, really well at refreshing the roots and giving some nice volume.
Shiseido - Facial Cotton 60 Sheets ( here )
Love these, onto the next box!
Pureology Scented Candle
This is surprisingly nice! I got this as a gift with purchase when buying a Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner a while ago, and I have to say it's a pretty decent candle. It has good throw, it lasted for ages and the scent is really nice and soothing. I'd actually consider purchasing this if it was at all possible! Do let me know if you ever spot this as a GWP again!
Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser in Alaska Light 2 50ml ( review - here )
This is one of my favourite tinted moisturisers. The finish is beautiful - radiant and glowy, but not too much. It has light-medium coverage that is buildable to a medium. It lasts all day, is super comfortable on the skin and has really nice skincare benefits plus an SPF30 which is pretty decent. I had a backup of this that I've now moved onto - I also have this in two shades. Love love love this!
No 7 Brow Gel ( here )
This is alright. I'm happy I stuck to it and finished it, and like I said it's ok, but now that I've moved onto my Anastasia Brow Gel I've realised how incredibly superior that one is!
Yves Saint Laurent Eyebrow Pencil in 03 Glazed Brown 1.3g ( here )
This is a really nice eyebrow pencil. I've had the littlest stub of this hanging around in my makeup collection for over a year without using it, and decided this summer it was time to just finish it already. I'm happy I did as it reminded me how much I like it. The colour is a nice ashy toned brown. It has a spooley at the end and it lasts really well throughout the day. I wouldn't mind buying this again.
Guerlain Wulong Meteorites Pressed 7.5g ( review - here )
This powder was fantastic. Just incredible. I'm happy I finished it, because I should - yes it was expensive, but I didn't buy it just to look at it. Though I have to say, this is a beautiful compact! The powder gave the skin the most perfect luminosity and radiance, whilst smoothing over any imperfections. It's good to set makeup with and help keep it on for longer, but not in an overly matte way. It was so finely milled it was completely undetectable on the skin, both to the eye and in that I couldn't feel it on the skin. It also didn't dry my skin out at all, which is a problem I sometimes have with powders. All in all I absolutely adored this and I am sad it's gone and I will certainly miss it, but I am also happy I used it all up before it got bad or old in any way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed Guerlain will release another limited edition pressed meteorites powder - I will definitely be picking it up! For now I'm keeping the compact as I think I can buy the regular pressed meteorites in a re-fill and put in the gorgeous Wulong compact. I'm happy I have a real reason to not throw it away, cause I don't think I'd be able to anyway!
Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in 10 White Petal & 62 Rosy Pink 5ml x 2 ( discontinued )
These are two really beautiful natural shades, and the tiny bottles are just so darned cute! However, I realised I've had this for quite a few years now and it's time to get rid of them. I've been on a nail polish no-buy since April, and will be getting rid of anything I haven't worn in the past year when April comes around again next year.. Eventually I'm planning to make the move onto more natural nail polish brands like Zoya and Kure Bazaar.
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in 01 Extreme Black 2.8ml ( here )
This is a really good mascara. It gives good volume, length, definition, separates lashes and is really, really black. It also doesn't flake, smudge or irritate my eyes. It also isn't impossible to get off.. Definitely a mascara I'd consider buying when I go through my stash!
Lancome Hypnose Volume Mascara in Noir Hypnotic 2ml ( here )
This is a very nice natural mascara. With just one quick application I had long curled separated lashes giving a bit of a doll-eyed look. However, I quickly noticed that whenever I applied this to my left eye it would sting and hurt my eye.. It was very strange, as it was just the one eye. As soon as I was sure it was the mascara I decided to throw it away - it's not worth risking, especially not with a free sample! I'm guessing perhaps the sample was a bit old? That or I really can't use it. I'll probably not buy it due to that, but otherwise it was a really nice natural mascara!
Dior Addict IT-Lash in 092 IT-Black1.5ml ( here )
This went straight for favourite status. I was rather unimpressed initially, feeling like it did barely anything, but then I realised the value of that. I am a girl that likes to sometimes wear very natural makeup. The problem is when I get to applying mascara. If the mascara is too obvious the whole look suddenly gets a bit "ruined" as I am obviously wearing mascara, and then the "no-makeup-makeup" doesn't really work as well, on me anyhow. With It-Lash though, it pulls everything together perfectly. This gives just a hint of definition, makes lashes black, and separates them.. but that's it. Not a mascara for anyone hoping for a mascara to give a false-lash effect, but if you want a really natural look - this is perfect! This is on my to-buy list.
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly, Bare Study and Hyperviolet 5g x 3 ( here )
If you've followed my finish-by-2014 posts you'll know I've been trying to finish the Painterly Paint Pot. I knew it was getting a bit old, but it still performed the same so I wanted to get as much use out of it until it dried out. Then one day about two weeks ago I watched someone on youtube throw away cream shadows because they smelled bad.. Then I decided to smell mine.. Well, let me just say I am definitely throwing these away and I can't believe I've been applying that to my eye everyday for months on end. They aren't absolutely rank smelling, I'm just being a bit overly dramatic as usual, but they did most certainly not smell like they do when you first open them. So in the bin they go.. Or rather actually in a drawer for back 2 mac.
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Strut 4.5g ( here )
This one has suffered the same fate. Interestingly, Benefit's Birthday Suit which I got at around the same time, doesn't smell bad! And that's the one I've used the most! I'm guessing it's about to turn on me though, so I'm trying to get a bit of use out of it before it goes, and I will be making sure to have a whiff every time before applying it!

So here we are! There are three months left and I've finished or gotten rid of over 100 makeup items and 123 full-sized skin, body and haircare products! That's quite amazing! Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post I've gotten back into use-it-up mode in respects to everything but makeup, which I'm now trying to just enjoy, so I will be trying to get through a lot by the end of the year. Perhaps I can get to at least 150 in the "Normal" category? I'll definitely be giving it a good go!
