Fall is finally here! And with it a whole lot of cold weather and the snow keeps attempting it's grand entrance. It's still not gathering once it hits the ground, but if we're gonna have the cold weather might as well have the snow, so hopefully soon! I've been burning scented candles, going through even more hand cream than usual and hitting the books. Exams are just around the corner, but I'm not that stressed about it and am just really looking forward to christmas, as usual. I think it just might be my favourite time of the year!
I've been doing a project I've decided to call the "Christmas Challenge" where I've rounded up all of my red lipsticks and nail polishes and am attempting to use them all by the end of the year. The lip products are going quite well, but the nail polishes will be a bit (a lot) more of a challenge. Let me know if you'd like to see any posts on this - if not, I have to say it's quite fun and absolutely recommend it if anyone would like to have a go as well! Now for my favourites for October!
Lancome La Vie Est Belle L'Eau de Parfum 30ml ( here )
This is just a beautiful scent. Don't let the initial super sweet impression fool you, it's spicy and with a lot of character. It lasts all day, has quite a strong scent (so don't put too much), and is instantly recognisable. It's a warm scent that is just perfect for this time of the year. I've only got a 30ml bottle, but I think once that's done I'll buy a big one. I really love this perfume.
Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks in Sugar Frost ( here ) and Moonlight ( here )
These are amazing! These are my first two Caviar Sticks and I'm certainly going to be getting some more! They are amazing, shimmery and last the whole day. Also I'm loving cream shadows in the stick form - so easy to apply!
Indeed Labs Retinol Reface ( here )
My skin hasn't been it's best the past month, which could be solved by me just opening up a new tub of Creme de La Mer I'm sure, but I'm insisting on finishing at least one other night cream first. To deal with my semi troubled skin this has been one of my saviours. I apply this in the evening and by the next morning my skin is more even in texture, feels balanced and calmed and not at-all congested. I think it's safe to say I'm a retinol convert!
Nars Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte ( here )
I've always heard the raves of the Nars Larger Than Life eyeliners, but always thought "how good could an eyeliner really be?!" and assumed they were a bit over-hyped. How wrong was I?! Turns out, very - I absolutely get it now! This is so creamy, yet super pigmented and lasts really well. I don't think anything's ever applied this easily to my waterline. I'm pretty much addicted - haven't used anything else the past month - and probably won't for November either.
Chanel Glossimer in 179 Murmure ( review - here )
This was part of a seasonal collection, but it's now part of Chanel's permanent line-up so I get to talk about it anyway! Murmure gives a really natural pink colour to the lips that's paired perfectly with my darker eyes and nude blush. What makes it a real winner is the formulation being not sticky and really impressive on the staying power (for a lip gloss). I've used this a lot the past month!
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair II ( here )
I've gone through quite a few bottles of the last version of Advanced Night Repair and must admit I was a bit nervous when I first heard of the 'new version'. Too many times companies mess with something that was great to begin with, only to make it worse - I'm looking at you Guerlain Meteorites! This update has been nothing but an absolute joy. It still gives the famous glow and all-around benefits. Like I mentioned above, my skin hasn't been behaving that well the past month, and having a night serum like this - that does a bit of everything all in one go has been an absolute treat. Highly recommended.
Nars Douceur Blush ( here )
I've just heard a rumour Nars are discontinuing all of their blushes! I adore the three I have, and always wanted to try more so if you did too this would be the time! Douceur is a rosy brown nude type blush that goes perfectly with anything really. It's got great pigmentation and blends and lasts very well. I'm sad it's being discontinued, but hopefully the new colours/formulations (both?!) will be even better.
Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in 02 Terra ( review - here )
You all know I love this - I use it a lot! Now proven by me actually hitting pan! I never thought I'd hit pan on this, and I'm not even excited by it. I really don't want this to get used up, I am too dependent on it! I decided to go back to powder bronzers this month after my little stint with trying to use up the Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel, and this was of course my first choice. This truly is the most perfect matte shade of bronzer I have ever used. If you've got pale skin and have trouble finding a bronzer that works (been there!) then have a look at this!
