Favourites: April 2015

My favourites from April consists of some long-time favourites, as you can tell by major pan, but also some new loves. All of the products are really, really good and I'm so excited to share them with you guys! Surprisingly I've only reviewed one of these items already on the blog, so it's good I'm making a point to mention the others as these are all products you really need to check out!

I'll start off with the perfume; Tom Ford Violet Blonde (  here ). I tend to forget how much I love this, but when I wear it I remember it's beautiful complexity. It has a beautiful mixture of more floral notes, and notes like suede, musk and pink pepper making it overall a very calm scent, but one that is still a statement. Perfume is very personal, so my perception of how this is, and how it reacts with my skin might not be how you will find it. I will say though, that this is one to give a second look. It opens like a stronger perfume a lot would probably feel they couldn't wear, but give it a moment and you'll see just how beautiful it is. This is one to wear on days when you want your perfume to be an extension of your personality and when you don't want to blend in. Also for days when you just want to smell really really good!

Another one by Tom Ford; The Bronzing Powder in Terra reviewhere ). I never thought I'd hit pan on this as it's so huge, but I did as you can tell, and I have no doubt I'll actually finish the whole thing as well. This is a matte bronzer that works incredible for my pale skin. When I can barely wear bronzer in the coldest palest mid-part of winter, somehow this still works. When applied with a fluffier brush this gives the most natural glow, giving some life back to my face, but without any obvious orange dirty looking stripes that many other bronzers tend to do to pale skin.

This Dolce & Gabbana The Blush Luminous Cheek Colour in Nude 10 ( here ) is another pale-skin favourite. It's got warm undertones that also help give some warmth to the skin. It's incredibly subtle, which is what I love about it, but it means I don't think this will show up as well on darker skin tones, though I might be wrong. This is why I want to wait with a review until I've tried using it in the summer when I've got more of a tan. On the cheeks this applies a warm apricot/peach colour, but it's mostly just a natural looking warm-toned flush to the cheeks. It's much more natural than say Nars' Luster, which is another warm-toned blush I love, but that one is much more noticeably orange.

This Clarins Gloss Prodige in 02 Nude ( here ) isn't all that spectacular, but that's why I love it. It's such an easy "swipe-and-go" product. It gives a barely there tint to the lips, with a really nice glossy shine. It just evens the colour of the lips, giving you a much more put together look. It feels really nice on the lips, is non-drying, not sticky and smells so good! Like raspberry candy or something like that! It's been my go to lip product for the entire month!

Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight here ) is a highlighter with cult-status and deservedly so. Just look at all that pan! And in a highlighter, no less! This gives the most gorgeous, completely natural looking, glow to the skin. It can bring life back to the most dull, dry and havent-gotten-my-eight-hours-for-a-week skin! A lot of champagne-type highlighters look too yellow on my pale skin, but this always works. I can be tan, I can be at my pales in winter, this always looks amazing.

May Lindstrom Skin The Jasmine Garden Botanical Mist ( here ) is a gorgeous facial mist I use as a toner. I use it every evening, and lately also every morning. It's strange how just a fine spritz of this over the face can give such results, but somehow this does. Everything I apply on top absorbs better, skin is immediately more balanced and stays that way all through the day. It also smells absolutely heavenly! I really love May Lindstrom Skin overall as a brand, and also May seems like such a lovely person. If you've yet to try her products, I highly recommend them. They come in hand cut packaging, and everything is done with such care and thought you can't help but love them. It's quite a special brand and one I love supporting every time I buy something from them.

The Tom Ford products look so amazing, I love their packaging (although they all look too big for the thing that's inside, which is not good for traveling, but the look of them is amazing!)

  2. Hehe yeah most of the products aren't too travel friendly being either big or heavy, but the product itself is always of such quality! I actually love this bronzer for travelling though as the mirror is huge, which means I can do my makeup where I have the best light - which never seems to be where the mirrors are in hotels lol!! xx

Haha okay well if you look at it that way, they are perfect for traveling :) x

  4. Great April picks! I just ordered the Tom Ford mini bronzer from his summer collection and can't wait to get it, the white packaging looks gorgeous.

  5. Oh yay you'll love it!! I'm so tempted to try Gold Dust to get one in the white packaging as well! It's stunning! :D xx

  6. Wow, you're hitting some pans here! I haven't hit the pan on anything for a long time...
I really want to try May Lindstrom skincare, all her products sound so dreamy. What's in that facial mist?

  7. Yeah hitting pan is always really exciting when you've got a big collection! :) The Jasmine Mist is full of all amazing organic ingredients that are really good for your skin. One that's a bit different is silver which is good to protect the skin from pollution etc. ! It's really, really good! :) xx

  8. I've got that D&G blush in nude in my shopping cart right now, along with rose...and a D&G lipstick and gloss. Been on a blush kick lately, plus I'm getting kind of bored with my lip stash. Dangerous times! Ha ha!! That ML mist sounds sooooooo nice :-)

  9. I had that blush in my cart for over a year until I finally bought it!! So glad I did though - the colour is so nice! Super natural, but warms the face right up and adds a bit of natural glow! Yeah the May Lindstrom stuff is soo good! I'm dreading the day this runs out as it's hard to get a hold of, but I'll definitely get another one! Haha yeah getting bored of a part of your stash is a recipe for disaster! I got bored of my eyeshadows in the fall and have added too many that I don't want to say lol!! xx

  10. wow look at the pan in that candlelight! nice job!!

  11. Thank you! I kinda want to finish it even though it's a favourite, just to re-purchase in the much handier smaller new packaging :D xx

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! :)
