Empties: June 2015

Like I warned in my May Empties this month's was going to be quite a massive month! I've got quite a lot of products for you, in every category - so let's just jump right in!

La Prairie Cellular Cleansing Water 150ml ( here )
Now, I'm not going to tell anyone they need to buy a makeup remover at this price. If you are interested, however, I can tell you that this is fabulous. I used it as an eye make-up remover mostly and it's pretty amazing at getting rid of everything quickly. I bought this mostly due to curiosity and don't see myself re-purchasing because it's so expensive, but I won't say that I won't buy it again either. I really did enjoy it.

La Prairie Purifying Cream Cleanser 200ml ( review - here )
As those of you who read my review on this may have gathered; I love this! I've already bought a backup that I would be onto if I hadn't managed to get a bit of a cleanser stock situation. Can't wait to start using another tube of this though!

Omorovicza Balancing Moisturiser 50ml ( review here )
Probably one of my favourite moisturisers ever. I've got nothing close to oily skin, but this still works superb with my combination normal/dehydrated skin. It's great at keeping my skin clear and blemish free, non-oily all day (though I don't have much of a problem with that), but without my skin feeling tight or dry at all. I've got quite a few moisturisers to go through as well, but I will definitely be buying this again!

Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum 30ml ( review - here )
I just did a review of this - I love it! I really want to re-purchase, but have a few serums I just have to get through before buying any more. I will definitely buy this again though! It's a full on anti-oxidant treat for the skin in a super light texture that boosts the skin whilst being undetectable on the skin, meaning not grease or oil adding at all. Everyone should use this!

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting 30ml ( review - here )
Another favourite product I finished in June, and a long-time one! I have lost count of how many bottles of this I've gone through over the years. I don't always use it back-to-back, but I seem to always return to it. I have no doubt I'll buy this again at some point.

Odacité Baobab-Sarsaparilla Serum Concentrate Eye Contour 5ml ( review - here )
This is a really nice thin oil that really hydrates and treats the skin around the eye area. It makes it plump, hydrated and you don't need to use as much of your eye cream. I would buy this again.

HealGel Intensive 30ml ( review - here )
As I pointed out in my review - I never finish this before it expires, and that has happened again. I don't think I'll buy this again unless they release it in a smaller size or I have a friend to share half the product with. It's just too wasteful for me. The product itself is absolutely spectacular though and if you are suffering from a lot of skin problems then this is a completely worthwhile investment that I would definitely recommend!

Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub 25g ( here )
This is ok. I didn't finish it all (does anybody?), but when I went to use it the last time it smelled a bit off, and that means it's going for me. It's ok as a lip scrub, nothing fantastic, but then again I haven't used that many to be honest. I've bought a Sarah Happ lip scrub to replace it and am excited to try that! I don't think I'll buy the Lush lip scrubs again.

Sensai Ultimate The Cream 2ml ( here )
This is nice enough, but it's not really for me. I used it now and then if I needed a lot of moisture and it works well for that. It's also not too heavy, so if you are a bit older and in need of some more serioust stuff, but doesn't want to feel like you are drowning your skin in heavy creams and oils - this just might be one to have a look into.

REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial 3ml ( here )
After all the raves about this I was so excited to try it for myself! I have to say I was quite underwhelmed. I'm not sure I used it correctly, to be honest, the whole process was a bit weird. I think if I'd had another sachet I'd be able to give a more proper review. I will say that I do think I'll just stick to my regular vitamin C serums and glycolic peels and call it a day on this sort of thing.

BareMinerals Faux Tan 128ml ( review - here )
I completely forgot I had this and found it at the back of the cabinet under the bathroom sink. It's expired so I'm throwing it away. It's about half-full so that sucks, but hey what can you do. I'm really trying to not end up in this situation anymore, and a good way towards reaching the goal so oh well. About the product though - I haven't used it in a while, but I remember it was absolutely fantastic - as I said in my review of it. It gives a seriously dark tan that fades naturally. I'd love to try this again after I've gone through the self-tanners I've got at the moment.

Supergoop! Antioxidant-Infused Sunscreen Mist with Vitamin C Broad Spectrum SPF 30 89ml ( here )
From Sephora's website this looks to now be containing SPF50 which I think is great! I'm not sure if the new version is the same product, but I'll say what I think about this either way; I bought it because the sales assistant said I could use it on top of makeup. I thought that was fantastic and bought it instantly. Big mistake. Thank god I decided to try it out in the evening before taking my makeup off just to see how it worked. This is super oily and no way something to spray over a face full of makeup. It does, however, work well as a daily SPF when you don't plan on wearing makeup. I fond it to give a beautiful radiance to the skin and the vitamin c noticeably helped clear my skin tone each time I used it. I might buy this again, though Supergoop has gotten really hard to get a hold off here and the only place that stocks it is always sold out.

Guerlain Terracotta Sunless Tinted Self-Tanning Gel 150ml ( here )
I already talked about this in my June Favourites post right before this one, so you can read more about this product in that post - here -. I've re-purchased this so many times, it's my go-to self-tanner and have been for a while. I'm onto my next bottle, and then I already have another back-up for when that one's finished! So that should give you a pretty good idea on how much I like it!

Kanebo Sensai Balancing Hair Conditioner 15ml ( here )
I was quite unimpressed when I used this as it felt like it did nothing for my hair, except leave it dry and unruly. However, when I dried my hair it was amazing! My hair was super soft and shiny, but lightweight and with lots of volume! It also stayed that way for days! I'm pretty impressed and am considering getting the full size!

Rahua Conditioner 275ml ( here )
I LOVE THIS! It's completely natural, which I always prefer, and also free of "all the things" including the most important one (to me) which is sulphate-free! This conditions my hair so incredibly well in just a minute and leaves my hair super healthy. It's not as lightweight and doesn't give as much easy volume as the Sensai one, but for days when my hair needs some moisture, but I don't have the time/can't be bothered to do a hair mask this is perfect. I'll definitely buy this again!

Pureology Hydrate Conditioner 250ml ( here )
This is nice enough. It does condition the hair well and it works well overall, but I just can't get 'on board' with the mint smell. Mostly it feels weird on my scalp, and especially in winter it was just not that awesome. I'd absolutely use this again, I have no complaints on the product, but I much prefer the Rahua one and so I don't see myself buying this again.

CHI 44 Iron Guard 251ml ( here )
This is one of those products I think we all have. I bought it for a specific purpose, always kept meaning to use it - I never did. I've even moved with it thinking it was absolutely a necessity and that I would use it, just see.. and nope! It's a heat protection spray to spray on hair when it's dry. Meaning if I had just let my hair air dry and didn't intend to style it, but later changed my mind, I would spray this on and then use heat tools. Sounds brilliant - used it about 3-4 times. Needless to say I won't re-purchase, but I have nothing bad to say about the product!

Fountain The Energy Molecule 240ml ( here )
I love the Fountain supplements! The Geek Molecule is my favourite in terms of effects, but this one is my favourite in terms of taste! It's such a kick to take a spoon-full of this in the morning. It's so sour it literally gives you a jolt! This is my second bottle I've gone through and I really want to get another one!

Beautyblender Blendercleanser Solid 1oz ( here )
I really enjoyed this. I've just been washing my beautyblenders and beautyblender wannabes with a scente-free natural soap, the Dr. Bronners one to be excact. It works just as well, but having it in a little container like this wreaks a lot less havoc on my hands. I want to buy this after I've gone through the other soaps I have for this purpose, but will probably buy it as part of a set next time with a new beautyblender. I've got my eye on the black one!

Shiseido Facial Cotton 60 Sheets ( here )
I love these, but I've found just as nice cotton pads at Muji for less than half the price so I don't see myself buying these anymore.

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer 4.25g ( here )
I've talked about all of these makeup products in my Project Use-it-up Update #6 post, so I won't repeat myself here. I'll say that I LOVE the effect this gives. I can definitely understand all the hype and why it's almost always sold out everywhere. Unfortunately this expired on me. If you want to try anything cream or liquid, and natural brands especially, you really need to commit to using it almost everyday. Lesson learned for me!

Nars Penny Lane Cream Blush 5.5g ( discontinued )
My favourite cream blush of all time. I am still upset they discontinued it. I've used this a whole lot and am honestly surprised at how much is left. This has been my only cream blush since buying it. Unfortunately this has expired as well so I'm getting rid of it. If it was still available I'd re-purchase in a heartbeat. Everything about it is perfect; the formula and the unbelievably un-dupeable shade. It looks like it would be SO EASY to find a dupe for, but let me assure you - it's impossible! Do let me know if you do find a blush - cream or powder - that is exactly this colour!

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit in Sand 3.1g ( here )
I never really got on with this too well, but you wouldn't know it from how much I used! I wanted to use it up, but I only got this far before I realised it was a bit off. I used most of it though, and the powder completely, so I'm pretty happy with it in that regards. The concealer itself I found to be a bit too sticky, it would accentuate the lines I have under my eyes (and I'm 26, I don't have much!) and never really set. I would absolutely not buy this again.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Light 2 Vanilla 6ml ( here )
This however is probably my favourite concealer at the moment, and have been for some time. I think this is my third or fourth tube I've finished. I tried to get the stopper out of this once I really couldn't get anymore out, but that was just a big mess. The stopper broke and I ended up with plastic pieces everywhere and in the tube and ugh.. so I'm getting rid of it, but there really isn't anything left. It was what most would consider empty two months ago and I've been scraping it out since! Now I'm finally onto a new one!

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté in 17 ( discontinued )
I've had such a hard time letting go of this lipstick. It's expired, melty and too soft, goes everywhere.. But it was my first ever red lipstick. In my teens I was the typical lip gloss girl - purple lip gloss, but gloss nonetheless. I never dared consider a lipstick, let alone a red lipstick! It wasn't until my friend got me to try hers I realised how much fun a full-on lipstick could be. Then I proudly went to the YSL counter at Boots by Bond Street Station and asked for the brightest red lipstick they had. I wore this so much I'm surprised there's even any left. And while I've moved on a long time ago, I just loved the memories of this lipstick so I've kept it for years even though I knew I was never going to use it again. This month however I decided it was time to declutter and into the bin it goes. I guess I can look at it in this post if I should ever feel the need - but I doubt I will (it just feels that way now).

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punchhere )
I don't like this. I like the scent it has, I like that it really is quite moisturising and it does look nice on the lips. It's just the colour. It doesn't suit me at all. I've used it up around the house and am so happy it's gone because I really looked horrible. Why I felt such a need to finish a Maybelline lip balm when I've got La Mer lip balms lying around I have no idea, but I'm still proud for finishing it. I've got the red one in 'Cherry Me' that I'm using now and I'm loving that. I really don't mind anything about the Baby Lips themselves, this colour just didn't suit me.

Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara 2ml ( here )
I don't like this mascara. I didn't like it when I had the full size, and I don't like it now. There was a sample in between that I was pleasantly surprised about (meaning I didn't hate it), but with this sample I'm right back to being definitely not interested. I find it to be thick and clumpy, yet it doesn't do anything for my lashes at all.

Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara ( here )
This is pretty decent. I never hear anybody talk about Clarins' mascaras. This isn't amazing, but it's a pretty decent mascara if you're after lashes that look longer and 'fluttery', but still quite natural.

Jesse's Girl Liquid Eyeliner 5ml ( here )
Megan sent me this when we did our swap and I love it! I definitely understand why she was raving about it on her youtube channel. It has a brush tip, is super black, and lasts all day. If I could buy it here I definitely would!

Valentino Valentina Eau de Parfum 1.5ml x 5 ( here )
I decided I wanted to finish up a few of my way too many perfume samples this month and pulled out all of my samples of Valentino's Valentina. This is a beautiful floral, perfect for a summer night out. It has notes of jasmine, vanilla, strawberry, tuber, african orange flower, tuberose, amber, bergamot and virginia cedar.
