I guess I kind of ended up taking a bit of an unplanned break from the blog, sorry guys! I had my brothers wedding and then I've felt a bit under the weather so this post has taken a while to finish. There's quite a lot of stuff here though, which I'm of course excited about. There's also a lot of good products so you'll probably get a mini review of at least something you've been curious about!
Pureology Hydrate Shampoo 250ml ( here )
This is a nice shampoo overall, but not one of my favourites. The results are nice - it cleans the hair and scalp without stripping it and leaves hair in good condition. I just can't get on board with the mint scent and how that feels on the skin. I understand why people rave about this so much, it's just not an overall winner for me.
Oribe Shampoo for Beautiful Color 250ml ( review - here )
This however, is a favourite. Oribe is the hair brand I've got the most products from, by a mile. I love how the products perform, their amazing scent and of course the beautiful design of all the bottles. This shampoo feels so nourishing for the hair, it cleans without stripping and leaves my hair incredibly soft and shiny.
LUSH Jungle Solid Conditioner ( here )
This is terrible. I bought this as I thought the concept was genius in terms of travelling. However, the conditioner doesn't do much of anything at all. I've got long hair and really need my conditioner to do a good job on the ends of my hair, so this was a total fail for me. I've finished the product up using it as a shaving product, but even as that it wasn't a winner. I'll keep the tin, but will never buy this again. So happy it's done. PS; I've set this to 'Jungle' conditioner, cause this was green as is that one, but I must admit I don't really remember the name of this one and it could be something else, if Lush does any other green solid conditioner that I wasn't able to locate?
Leonor Greyl Masque Fleurs De Jasmin Nourishing Treatment Mask for Beautifying All Hair Types 200ml ( here )
This is a nice enough mask, but I never fell in love with it. It smells really chemically and with all the incredibly smelling hair masks and products in general out there I want something that smells nice to add to the whole mask indulgence. This did keep my hair in good shape though, I've got no complaints, so if you don't mind the smell or like it (scents are after all quite personal) then it's definitely a decent mask all around.
Sensai Shidenkai Volumising Conditioner and Shampoo 12ml x 2 ( here )
I have the full size of the shampoo and the conditioner is really nice as well. I tried Sensai's Balancing Conditioner and was impressed with that as well. The next time I'm buying a conditioner I'll definitely consider Sensai. Of these two I'll probably go with the Balancing Conditioner as the Volumising didn't treat my hair enough, and since my hair is long I need a bit more nourishment for the ends to keep it healthy.
Bjorn Axén Strengthening Shampoo & Conditioner For Fine Hair 10ml x 2
This didn't make much of an impression at all. It was definitely ok, but nothing special and I can't say I'm very interested in the brand either.
Biotherm Lait Corporel Anti-Drying Body Milk 400ml ( here )
I love this body lotion. I have no idea how many bottles of this I've been through over the years, but it's probably over a hundred! I'll keep re-purchasing this for as long as they make it I think. It moisturises perfectly, yet isn't at all greasy or heavy feeling at all, and leaves no residue behind.
Biotherm Lait de Gommage 75ml ( here )
Another product I've used so many times I've lost count. It's a great scrub that is quite abrasive, but not too much. It's quick and easy to use as it's in a squeezy tube and the product spreads easily across the skin. All-round great, can't go wrong with this one!
Bliss Hand Cream ( here )
This was another ok product. It smelled good and hydrated my hands pretty well. It also absorbed well and so worked well for daytime use. The label fell off of this, so it's not really just all-blue, and I also can't for the life of me remember what scent this sample had. I've linked a hand cream set so hopefully one in the set will be the correct one!
Guerlain Maxi Lash Mascara ( review - here )
This is a nice mascara for anyone that wants their lashes to look defined, but very natural. It does add a bit of length and a bit of volume, but it won't make you want to skip fake lashes if you use those.
Yves Saint Laurent Babydoll Mascara 2ml ( here )
This is a very nice mascara - it's super black and gives a lot of lenght, some volume. I don't like the plastic wands, personally, and find this gets clumpy as it starts drying out. It's still one of the better ones and while the Dior Overcurl is still my favourite (and I'll re-purchase that) I'll still say this is a pretty good option.
Estée Lauder Sumptous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara 2.8ml ( here )
Another great mascara, especially if you love full-on volume. This has natural bristles, which I love and a pretty big brush. It adds a lot of volume and length and is great if you want a lot of lashes.
MAC Lustre Lipstick in 'Flamingo' ( review - limited edition )
Spoiler alert: this is in my use-it-up project, but I am letting go of it. I'll go more into detail in my next update on that project, but I'll just say now that it's basically that I realised it's gotten old, as the texture has changed and it goes on a bit patchy. It still smells nice and seems ok, but I don't like how it looks on the lips and so I'm simply put over it.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Ransom 0.8g ( here )
This is also just simply old. I tried to use it the other day and found it flaked off my waterline and went into my eye - not something you want. I've got nothing bad to say about the product itself though, it's a decent eyeliner, or at least it was. I got this as part of a palette from Urban Decay years ago - probably 4 years or so. I should've gone through the eyeliner by now, I just am not the best at using colourful eye makeup.
Fountain The Super Green Molecule 240ml ( here )
I like the Fountain supplements, but not so much this green one. Mostly as it's got so much dark pigment and if you accidentally spill it it almost stains whatever surface it gets on - this is definitely one to take over the sink. It is supposed to have a kiwi flavour, but I didn't find it as fresh as a kiwi usually is. Overall this is nice and I love the concept. It's hard to say wether this one worked or not, but I do feel like I've noticed more results from the other Fountain supplements I've tried. I also prefer the flavour in the others so I probably won't buy this again. I've been through two bottles though and have got nothing negative to say, I just think I prefer the the other ones.
Kure Bazaar Final Touch Top Coat 10ml ( here )
I've been really interested in buying Kure Bazaar polishes for a while, but as I'm no a no-buy with nail polishes I haven't. I did, however, run out of top coats so I figured I could try theirs. This is ok - it gives a nice shiny finish to the polish and helps keep it on for longer, but it took ages to dry. I love that the polishes are more natural and am still interested in trying other things from the brand, but for top coats I've moved onto Deborah Lippmann's Top Speed which is quite the speedy drier, especially compared to this one.
Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm with essential rose wax 3ml ( here )
This is a really good lip balm that both really treats the lips and also looks nice and glossy on the lips. I also love this little sample size as it doesn't take up much space in my makeup bag.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette 50ml ( here )
I'm happy to actually finish a full-size perfume as I've got a few too many at the moment for my liking. This wasn't my favourite perfume really, but I have really enjoyed it. I have so many heavier perfumes it's nice sometimes to have the option of something light and fresh and that is definitely Daisy. This is also incredible to spray on before bed. It doesn't last long on the skin so if I re-purchase (which I just might) I'll probably get the perfume version instead.
La Prairie Cellular Energizing Body Spray 1.5ml ( here )
This is a nice refreshing citrus scented body spray that I know a lot of people love, but I haven't fallen for it personally. It's nothing too special in my opinion, but I do see the appeal.
Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum 1.2ml x 4 ( here )
This is gorgeous. Summer in a bottle! This is a beautiful warm summer scent with notes of vanilla, african orange flower, tonka bean, benzoin and pink pepper. Definitely one to have a sniff of the next time you spot it.
Sensai Silky Purifying Cleansing Balm 30ml ( here )
I really like this and always take this travel size with me if I'm going somewhere as it's just perfect. This is a lighter balm cleanse that make it perfect for both evening and morning cleansing. This washes off with just water and leaves skin feeling really good and clean, but not at all stripped. I'd absolutely love to buy the full-size of this, perhaps even just to have as a travel-product as it's so good for both morning and night.
Yves Saint Laurent Top Secrets Eye Make-Up Remover Bi-Phase 30ml ( here )
This is a really good eye-makeup remover. It's similar to other bi-phase eye makeup removers. It leaves a bit of oily residue and takes of makeup really well - it's on the better side of the bi-phase removers I've used, and I've used pretty much "all" of them in full-size or sample size.
Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Overnight Detox Oil 1ml ( here )
I love this and always take a sample with me when I travel, though I'm unfortunately about to run out of samples. I apply this in place of both a serum and night cream and wake up to beautiful glowing, hydrated and balanced skin. This has been on my to-buy list since I first tried it, but I'm waiting until I've used up some more of my oils and night serums as I've just got too many open still to justify buying any more.
Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector 2ml ( here )
I was really impressed by this! The sample lasted me 4 uses and I swear I noticed my pores being less noticeable! I really wish I'd had another sample or larger sample to test it out better, cause I'm still not sure it's worth the hefty price tag - but it got me curious about the product, that's for sure.
Biotherm Skin-Ergetic Signs of Fatigue Repairing Concentrate 5ml x 2 ( discontinued )
I got some samples of this over a year ago and instantly bought the full size! Unfortunately it got discontinued shortly after and so when I found these samples this month I realised how old they must be, and decided to just get rid of them. It's a great product though, I'm still sad they stopped making it!
Sephora Rose Sheet Mask ( here )
This was actually really good! The other Sephora Sheet Masks I've tried I haven't felt did much at all, but this made a real difference in my skin. My skin was balanced, hydrated and glowing! Absolutely one I would buy again and recommend to check out!
Supergoop Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 37 15ml ( review - here )
I love this and have moved onto my next tube already! I have lost count on how many I've gone through now. Can't recommend enough, will use as long as they make it!
Supergoop Skin Soothing Mineral Sunscreen with Olive Polyphenols Broad Spectrum SPF 40 71ml ( review - here )
This is really nice. It's super light-weight and so it absorbs really quickly and works super under makeup. No white cast or greasy feeling, and no tan what so ever. I'll probably buy this again if they ever get it back in stock where I buy it (it's always sold out!).
Oskia Perfect Cleanser Nutri-Active Cleansing & Nourishing Balm 125ml ( review - here )
These last three products are all favourites of mine and I am not excited to be finished with them at all, but hey that's life, and at least I used them all up without them going bad or anything, so that's something? This cleanser is beautiful. It's thick and luscious and does a great job of deep cleaning the skin. Check out my full review for more!
May Lindstrom Skin The Jasmine Garden Botanical Mist 100ml ( review - here )
This is amazing. It smells wonderful and helped any products I put on top absorb better. It also helped keep my skin very balanced and comfortable.
LING Oxygen Plasma Potion Glow Rejuvenating Solution 30ml ( review - here )
Finally we have this Ling serum that I absolutely love and can't wait to re-purchase. If there's one brand that just keep impressing me with each product I try it's Ling. If you've got the products available to you I really recommend trying one of the serums or the rest of the line, which I haven't tried personally, but would be very surprised if isn't all around fabulous as well.
