Favourites: July 2015
There hasn't been much of a summer here in Norway, but I've made sure to take advantage of the days when the sun and warmer temperatures did decide to peek through. Even without the typical summer weather I've still found myself gravitating towards lighter makeup and skincare as I usually do this time of year. Fall is just around the corner and even though I'm a bit sad I barely got to wear any dresses this year, I'm kind of excited as fall is my favourite time of the year! I've already started eyeing candles - but that's for next month! Now for my still-"summer"-july favourites!
I'll start this month with my favourite perfume at the moment - Bond No.9 Union Square Perfume ( here ). This is one of my favourite perfumes to wear during the summer. It's very flowery but fresh and really uplifting. It's stronger and while I prefer wearing it during the summer months, it can be worn year round as well. It has notes of freesia, grass, musk, amber, birch and lily of the valley. I bought this when I was in New York for a few weeks two summers ago and it always brings back so many great memories when I wear it. This is one of my all-time favourite perfumes!
I've yet to write a review on the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream ( here ), but I am planning on writing one hopefully this month. This was part of the swap I did with Megan ( her youtube channel here ). I've enjoyed this since I started using it, but especially the past month. This is really nurturing, but still super lightweight. It also absorbs super quickly and smells of delicious fresh blueberries!
I've used the RMS Cream Eye Shadow in 'Lunar' ( here ) here and there for a while and enjoyed it, but never thought it was all that special. This past month though I've been obsessed with it! It makes the perfect inner eye highlight! I dab my finger into the pot and then carefully place it where I want it. I've also used it to lighten up darker cream shadows by placing it where the light would hit on the middle of the lid. The effect is so beautiful, this has quickly moved up to must-always-have staple-status!
Then for a product by a brand I'm really impressed by, this time I want to tell you about the Kaplan MD Lip 20 Treatment + SPF in Sheer Rosewood Shine ( here ). This is supposed to be a 'shine' lipstick, but behaves more like a lipstick as I find it is pigmented on the lips. It's infused with a balm in the middle which helps keep my always-dry lips in good condition. The colour is a warm brown-toned natural colour that I've been loving with my overall more warm toned makeup. If you've got dry lips I urge you to look at buying some lip products by the brand, I LOVE their lip gloss as well!
This has been a favourite all through winter as well, but the last month I've been using the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask ( here ) a lot and loving the results. This is a moisturising and purifying mask in one - which I love for my normal/dehydrated skin! It deep cleanses your pores whilst also balancing, soothing and nourishing your skin. If you've got combination skin, or always find yourself in a hurry - this is a great 2-in-1 mask that works brilliantly at keeping my skin in tip-top shape!
