Empties: August 2015

There's quite a few products for my August empties post! I've finally finished a few hair styling products which I'm very excited about. I've got way too many and they seem to take an absolute lifetime to finish. I've got a few skincare staples in here and unfortunately just a small amount of makeup items. I thought I'd have some more, but those products will be in my September empties instead! With just a few months left of the year I need to step up my game if I want to even come close to my final numbers for last year!

Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-in-1 Moisturising Mask & Hand Cream 125ml ( here )
This is one of my all-time favourite hand creams. I use this before going to bed and it keeps my hands in really good shape. I stocked up when I was in Ireland last fall and I've still got a few left as this lasts for absolutely ages. If you've got dry hands you need to try this!

Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream 50ml ( here )
Another hand cream I really love, but for daytime use. I've gone through so many tubes of this. It smells really nice, nothing strong, and moisturises well without leaving any greasy residue.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter 300ml ( here )
I love Soap & Glory body butters and this is no different. It has the typical Soap & Glory scent, but it doesn't linger and won't interfere with your perfume. It spreads easily across the skin, the tub lasts a fair while and it keeps my otherwise dry legs in really neat condition. These are also almost always on some kind of offer so it's quite a good deal. I got this as part of a 2 for 1 deal, so I've got the other one on the go now.

Rahua Shampoo 275ml ( here )
I absolutely love Rahua products and will definitely be re-purchasing both this and the conditioner that I finished last month. This shampoo cleans the hair really well, but without being harsh or stripping it. It's also very gently on the scalp.

Macadamia Moisturising Rinse 300ml ( review - here )
This was terrible. It was absolutely useless as a conditioner - it's thin, barely moisturised at all and left my usually very easy-to-manage hair kind of dry and tangly. My hair is in pretty good condition, so that's really bad for a conditioner to leave my hair like that. I've used it up as shaving cream, which is what I always do with conditioners I don't like, but it wasn't even good as that. Never ever will I use or buy this again.

Bumble and Bumble BB Prep Spray 250ml ( here )
I really enjoyed using this. I would spray this onto clean towel-dried hair, and found that whatever I applied on top would be more evenly distributed and absorbed a bit faster. It's a product I would like to buy again, but I don't have to. It's a good product, but not one I'm sure I absolutely need. I'm fine for now without it as part of my haircare routine, and will probably buy it again whenever I get around to it.

Klorane Leave-in Spray with Magnolia 100ml ( here )
This is a decent shine spray, but it could make my hair a bit more greasy faster than otherwise, and be a bit heavy meaning less volume at the roots. My favourite shine spray of all time is still the pink one by Kerastase and I would definitely buy that over this. This gives just a bit of shine, and doesn't smell nearly as good.

Klorane Leave-in Cream with Mango Butter 125ml here )
This was ok. It did nourish my hair, but it was a bit heavier than I like meaning, again, less volume at the roots. It's a decent leave-in conditioner and Klorane is quite cheap so if you are on a budget I'd say it's a pretty good deal. Otherwise I much prefer Oribe's leave-in's.

Sephora Collection Pearl Mask Perfecting & Brightening x 2 ( here )
I went through a whole 3 sheet masks in August, all Sephora. I bought quite a few of these when they were first released in a lot of different formulas, but have to say I haven't been very impressed. The mask itself doesn't fit very well and keeps almost falling off when I am wearing it. After removing the sheet mask and rubbing the product into the skin, I also can't say I've noticed much in terms of results. The Pearl Mask is no different. It's a fun mask to try as sheet masks have been new to me, but this is not one I think I will be buying again. I noticed slight brightening results, sure, but nothing mayor.

Sephora Collection Lingzhi Mask Anti-aging & smoothing here )
The one of the Sephora Sheet Masks that had impressed me before August was the Rose Mask that I mentioned my love for in my July Empties post. In August I was impressed again with the Lingzi mask. It left my skin noticeably smoother, more plump and glowing! Out of all of the Sephora sheet masks I've tried, and I think I've tried most of them, this and the Rose Mask are the two I'd definitely want to buy more of. I'm down to my last sheet mask now - the Ginseng one, which I'll probably talk about in my September empties!

Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Oil 200ml ( review - here )
I've talked about this a lot as it's one of my all-time favourite products. This oil smells absolutely amazing and works brilliantly. I massage it across my face and splash it off with water. It removes all my makeup, including mascara. I'm using the Body Shop Cleansing Oil at the moment due to curiosity, but will definitely return to this after that.

Pangea Organics Facial Cleanser Egyptian Calendula & Blood Orange 120ml ( here )
I hated this and am throwing it away half-full. Let me rephrase that - I hated it half the time. When it was good it was all around decent and fine. I used it as a light and quick morning cleanse and while it didn't blow my mind, there was nothing wrong with it. The other times however, it was horrific. It would literally stick to my skin and I would have to take a wet face towel and literally rub it off my skin. My skin is a tad sensitive to begin with and this was not a good start to any day. Then suddenly it would work normally again, and then it would cling to my skin. I still have absolutely no idea why sometimes it would be fine and other days it wouldn't, if someone knows why it could be I'd love to know. Not to continue using this, no way, just cause I'm really curious.

Pangea Organics Facial Toner Italian Green Mandarin & Sweet Lime 120ml ( review - here )
I reviewed this and will say what I said there, here: this is fine. It's nothing special. It has a few nice ingredients that would make it a decent product, but theres a few bad ones in there as well which might be why it doesn't work that well as a whole. Like I said though, it is ok, but nothing all the special. I think my little adventure into Pangea Organics is over. I have one more product that I'm currently using, a body oil, but when that's finished I don't think I'll be using any more of their products.

Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex 10ml ( review - here )
One of my favourites and a product regular readers of the blog should be quite familiar with by now. This is a gorgeous face oil that gives the most amazing radiant healthy looking skin. This is my third or fourth bottle and I will be buying another, no question!

Creme de La Mer The SPF 50 UV Protecting Fluid 50ml ( review - here )
This has to be the best sunscreen I have ever used, and unfortunately also the most expensive. It gives an amazing sheen to the skin that isn't at all oily, just radiant healthy-looking skin.

Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Eye & Lip Care 5ml ( here )
This is a really nice eye cream actually. It's not super heavy, so if you need something that really helps lift or help with wrinkles, I'm not sure this will be it. If you don't need too much for the eye area though, just a good amount of moisture and anti-oxidants, this is a really good option. It's also quite affordable which never hurts.

The Body Shop Nutriorganics Drops of Youth 1.5ml ( here )
This was ok, nothing special. It has alcohol quite high on the ingredients list so I didn't really want to use it, but I did use it once just to try it. It didn't really do anything noticeable, but using it once doesn't really count either I know.

Lancome Genifique Yeux Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator 5ml ( here )
This I really like. I think this is my last sample of this which sucks a bit as it's super handy for when I travel. I've started my new full size of the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye II and am enjoying it so far, review to come. I'm not sure if I'd buy this later. There are so many eye serums on the market now, which means there are so many I want to try, but this is really good and I love the cooling applicator.

Clarins Serum Mission Perfection Serum here )
Clarins' new serum sounds absolutely brilliant if what they are claiming is true so naturally I really wanted to try it. I managed to snag a decently sized sample at my local counter and have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit. I feel it helped my skin feel nourished and moisturised and the slight peach tint gave me a bit of a glow. I didn't use it for long enough to see any of the long-term effects such as pigmentation marks fading, of course, but I kinda want to try the full size now.

Zoya Remove+ Polish Remover 237ml ( here )
This is a really good nail polish remover. I love the bottle especially, it's so easy to use. I also love that it's a more natural product overall. I have already re-purchased.

Fountain The Geek Molecule 240ml ( here )
I've used quite a few Fountain products over the last year or so and this one is by far my favourite. I feel this helps me be more efficient, gives be a bit of an extra boost to want to get things done, and now, not 'tomorrow'. I don't know if it's real or just a placebo effect, but if it works I'm not sure it really matters. I've got two Fountain products left - the yellow and the green one. Once those are finished I'll buy this again.

Rapidbrow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum 3ml ( here )
This is really good! If you are trying to grow out your brows, but find that it's taking aages, you should give yourself a break and pick this up. It's very expensive for just 3ml of product, but I'm telling you, it's worth it. Also, whilst 3ml sounds like very little, and in all fairness it is, it does last quite a while. I've used this for almost 5 months now I think and it's just now empty.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Nourishing Lip Balm SPF 20 PA+++ 14.8ml ( here )
This is such a good lip balm! It's a thinner balm than say the original Eight Hour formula. It goes on really glossy and you can definitely wear it instead of other lip products if your lips are in very poor condition, and still look really nice. I've also used this on top of lipsticks as a super hydrating gloss. A part from it looking decent on, the main selling point here is that it actually nourishes the lips. This isn't one of those lip balms that sit on the lips and do absolutely nothing, meaning you'll have to re-apply and re-apply. No, this heals and moisturises the lips so well that after it's worn off you won't feel the immediate need to apply more, and you might actually feel like not re-applying at all. I will definitely buy another tube of this once I've gone through more of my lip balm stash!

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray 118ml ( review - here )
I've gone through so many bottles of this I've lost count and am already onto my next one. I think I'll always keep purchasing this unless I find something that works better, which I definitely haven't so far.

Sensai Eyelid Base ( here )
The lovely sales assistant at the Sensai counter where I usually go made a super generous sample of the eye primer for me last fall and it's lasted ages. It's kind of a cream that goes on quite sheer. It has a bit of an illuminating effect, but definitely doesn't cover anything like for example Mac's Painterly. It doen't feel like a typical eye primer as it's not at all sticky, it's just like a thin light moisturiser. It does work amazingly well though. I don't have a big problem with eyeshadows fading or creasing and I don't really need to use an eye primer, but when I use this even I notice a huge improvement in the staying power of my eyeshadow. It's pretty much impeccable from application until I take it off in the evening. It's quite amazing and I am definitely interested in buying the full size.

Nars Lipgloss in 'Gold Digger' 3.4ml ( discontinued )
This is a gift with purchase I received in New York from the nicest sales assistant probably ever. The gloss is a bit sticky for my liking, but the warm golden tint it gave the lips was really nice. I'm not big on glitter in my glosses, and didn't love the gold in this, but it wasn't really noticeable on the lips. I won't say too much about this as I believe these lip glosses have been discontinued anyway.
