Favourites: August 2015
August was quite a month for me. My brother got married, I started looking for jobs and got one, and started it straight! I've let the blog on the side as I've gotten used to the new job, which I'm sure you all understand! My August favourites are a mix of favourites I've re-purchased for my brothers wedding and fool-proof ones to make sure I've got my best face on for interviews and eventually the first days at my new job. All absolutely great products that I'm excited to share with you all.
First out is a lipstick that I've loved for a while now. This is the Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in Lucky ( here ). It's a beautiful bright coral that you can amp up or wear as just a slight tint depending on how many swipes you apply. It's the perfect day-to-night lipstick, perfect handbag lipstick and perfect overall lipstick. The formula is also excellent, really comfortable on the lips, not drying at all, actually a bit moisturising. I also have another lipstick in this formula that I love just as much so if you haven't tried any of the Addict Extreme's I really recommend having a look. And quickly, as it seems it might be getting discontinued as it's in super low stock everywhere and most places only have a few shades left!
I had kind of forgotten about the Chanel Les 4 Ombre Palettes of which I bought two when they were first released. I pulled this one, 214 Tissé Madamoiselle ( review - here ), out this month as it's perfect for a job interview or office job such as mine. When applied it's all very subtle, but still sophisticated and very pulled together and clean. It's stunning and I think I might actually hit pan on the two lighter shades any day now.
My go-to perfume for August was definitely the Carven Le Parfum ( here ). It's an overall very fresh scent, perfect for summer. It's also got floral notes which makes it a more interesting scent than your typical generic citrus scents, and there's some sweetness to it as well which is why I love it so much. If you are missing a super fresh summer scent in your perfume wardrobe I'd definitely recommend giving this one a sniff.
I just had to pick up another one of the Tom Ford Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen ( here ). I bought one last year and absolutely loved it. I didn't want to buy it again until I'd finished all my liquid or gel eyeliners and since I have I figured buying another one for my brothers wedding would be the perfect occasion. This is massively overpriced for just an eyeliner, but wow it works well. The two sides make application super easy ( I apply the line itself with the longer brush side and then add a tiny flick with the tiny brush on the other). If you just can't seem to get comfortable with liquid eyeliner application, but love how it looks, I'd really recommend this.
Another old favourite I decided to buy for the wedding is the Dior Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum ( here ). My lashes that are usually really long was in quite poor condition over the summer, so I decided to buy this again both for the instant results and also long term. For the wedding I only used it for about a week, but with this as a base my lashes looked long and amazing. Now after using it for a month my lashes are long and healthy again. If you've got lashes in need of a bit of help I couldn't recommend this enough.
The Nude ProGenius Treatment Oil ( here ). This is a product I really need to write a full review on because it's so soo good! Basically, whenever I just need something to do everything for my skin and need to know that it's going to be in perfect condition for the day after, I apply this. It's super nourishing and hydrating, seems to help heal and clear anything and everything and gives the most amazing glow. If you've got any kind of skin problem, any - buy this. Just buy it. You can thank me later.
