Favourites: October 2015

So the problem with focusing on using stuff up is when the time comes to write a favourites post. I've pretty much stuck to the same makeup and skincare for the entire month, and the same as I used last month. It's great, cause I'm really getting somewhere with using up my stash, but I don't have much new stuff to talk about. There's two products here that I did just talk about, but they were the two products that stood out the most this month, so it felt natural to include them anyway.

First off a new product that I haven't talked about before; the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel ( here ). I've been using this for about two months now and I absolutely love it. The plan is to have a full review for you the coming month. This is basically the perfect cleansing balm for those of you that don't want to use a cleansing balm on account of it being a lot of work to get off. This splashes off with just water - which is why I love it as well.

I said I wanted to include more hair products, and so here is one for this month as well. I've previously talked about how much I love the Oribe hair products, and the Oribe Balm d'Or Heat Styling Shield ( here ) is no different. This is magical! It leaves hair silky smooth, full of volume and light as air, whilst also protecting hair from the heat of any styling tools. This is one of the best leave-in treatments I've ever used, if not the best.

I've just talked about the Rodin Olio Lusso Luxury Face Oil ( reviewhere )in a favourites post, and written a full review, but I had to include it this month as well as it's really proved it's powers. My skin has been feeling a bit rough and stressed from both working a lot, but also due to the seasons changing, which always tends to wreak havoc on my skin. I don't use this on weekdays as it takes longer to absorb than I can wait for, but every saturday and sunday I've used it, and each time it gets my skin right back to were I want it after just a few hours. It moisturises, balances, soothes, treats, heals.. it does everything, and quickly. I'm addicted to this stuff, when it's done I'll definitely be buying another.

I have one makeup product for you this month, and it's a brand new one as well (for me); the RMS Beauty 'Un Cover-up' ( here ). This is a concealer and a foundation, but I've only used it as a concealer so far. This is a natural brand, and as much as natural brands have impressed me over the years, I guess when it comes to the makeup I'm still a bit biased. For some reason I expected this to be just so-so, that it would crease a lot and disappear after two hours. Boy was I wrong. This covers my undereye perfectly, it's natural, it doesn't crease and it lasts all darned day. Hardly any concealers do that. Like I said, I'm yet to try it on my face, but I will definitely after I finish my foundation in my use-it-up project, and then I'll report back in a full review.

Finally I have the monthly perfume favourite; Tom Ford Violet Blonde ( here ). This is another product I've just talked about, but I had to include it anyway. I've loved this perfume since buying it, of course, but it reached a new level the past month. I guess October is the perfect month to use this. It's so warm and comforting, but also super sophisticated and powerful. I felt this gave me that extra bit of confidence some days when I needed it. It also lasts all day so I would catch a whiff of it here and there all through the day when I was wearing it, which was most days, almost all the days, actually, of October.
