Empties: February 2016

Now it's time for another monthly empties post! February was just 29 days, but I've managed to finish off quite a bit. A lot of full-size items, some samples and some makeup as well, which I am especially excited about.

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh Body Lotion 400ml ( here )
This is an overall ok body lotion, no complaints, but not something I am planning on purchasing again. The 400ml size was quite a great deal, but I am happy to move on to other things for now.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Body Wash 250ml ( here )
I love this. The scent is really nice and herbal, and it helps keep skin clear as well.

Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub For Smooth Skin 30ml ( here )
A very nice body scrub. It's pink and has quite rough granules in it, so it gives a very decent scrub. I've got nothing against this, and wouldn't mind owning the full size. It's nothing absolutely mind-blowing though, and the smell is pretty boring.

Fushi Organic Evening Primrose Oil 100ml ( here )
This was quite a nice oil. I liked it overall, but still prefer the Organic Rosehip Oil version, and will be sticking to that.

The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Body Butter 200ml ( limited edition )
This smells SO GOOD! I really hope they bring back this scent this summer. If they do I will stock up on the body butters, those were my favourite. That and the shower gel.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream 50ml ( here )
I bought a three-pack of smaller sized body butter from Soap & Glory for christmas, and this month I've finished up two of them. When I bought it I was hoping the Sugar Crush would possibly be a similar scent to the Virgin Mojito range by The Body Shop. It's not. It's ok and the body butter is really good itself, but I didn't fall in love with the scent as much as I hoped I would.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter 50ml ( here )
This is still really good. It has the typical Soap & Glory scent for anyone familiar with the brand. I'm currently working my way through a full-size tub of this and I'm definitely enjoying it.

Over the moon about... Mandarin & Patchouli Hand Lotion 75ml ( limited edition )
This was also part of a three-piece set for christmas, and this is the second one I've finished. These are ok. The scents are nothing special, and the formula isn't very good. I find they don't really hydrate at all. On second thought, they aren't actually ok they are quite bad and I can't wait to be done with them.

Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-in-1 Moisture Mask & Hand Cream 125ml ( here )
This is one of my favourite hand creams and I stock up whenever I go to the UK where they sell it in Boots. I use this as my overnight hand cream or during the day when my hands are feeling especially dry. It works really really well, without being overly greasy.

Kaplan MD Lip 20 Mask 2ml ( here )
I've never used a lip mask before trying this, and I haven't really heard of any other either. I love KaplanMD products already - I use the lip gloss and the lipstick, so I was expecting to like this as well. I did. It both exfoliates and hydrates the lips at the same time, and I've even bought the full size. I'll be writing a full review for those of you that are interested in more information.

REN Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser 150ml ( review - here )
I've already written a full review of this that you can check out if you are curious. I'll just say that I was really impressed with this and definitely understand what all the hype is about. Definitely a cleanser I wouldn't mind buying again!

Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Hydrator 60ml ( review - here )
I LOVED this! I've just written a full review so I won't repeat myself too much and just say go there to read more. I'm really looking forward to buying this again once I've finished up more of my extensive collection of day cream backups.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask 50ml ( review - here )
This is a really nice peel-mask. I leave it on for just 10 minutes after I've cleansed my face, and wipe it off with a hot cloth, and then splash my face as well to make sure it's all off. It gives me an instant glow, but even more so the next morning (I always do peels in the evenings).

Vichy Idéal Soleil SPF 50 Velvety Cream 50ml ( here )
I really enjoyed this sunscreen. It's a tiny bit thicker than some, but not super thick. It's a bit greasy, but it does absorb after about 15 minutes or so. When it's on though, it doesn't leave a white-cast, doesn't interfere with makeup, doesn't clog pores or do anything bad for my skin. It just protects it from sun damage. I would definitely buy this again.

Shiseido Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream 7ml ( here )
I've used up and talked about quite a few samples of this over the years, and I'm always thrilled when I receive another one. This is a really good cream, night cream for me. It's moisturising, but not at all greasy, and makes skin feel clear and smooth and hydrated by next morning. I have no idea why I haven't bought a full size yet, to be honest.

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask 75ml ( here )
I definitely get what all the hype is about with this mask! It's moisturising and anti-bacterial all in one, which makes it perfect for anyone with combination skin, like myself. It's been the perfect "clay mask" during the colder winter months, when my skin is drier. This doesn't dry down like a clay mask, but it is anti-bacterial, and so does similar things. I definitely recommend this, and will definitely be buying again!

Loréal Age Perfect Extraordinary Oil-Cream ( here )
This was actually quite nice. I haven't checked the ingredients list or looked into it much, and it was just a sachet sample that lasted two uses (as a night cream), but from those two uses I have to say I'm a little bit interested.

Lancôme Rénergie Multi-Lift Lifting Firming Anti-Wrinkle Cream SPF15 2ml ( here )
This was really nice as well. I used this during the day, due to the SPF, but was a bit scared it'd be too heavy due to the anti-ageing part. It was not. It absorbed really well, moisturised without being greasy at all and overall left skin feeling quite nice.

Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Cream 8ml ( discontinued? )
This was nice enough, but it didn't wow me. It hydrated my skin well, but I didn't notice anything special beyond that. Not something I'll buy the full size of. Not that I could find it anywhere when looking for it online, so perhaps it's discontinued anyway?

Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance Lift Remodelling Eye Cream 2ml ( here )
This is a nice eye cream. I did notice a bit of a tightening effect, I must admit. It also moisturised well.

Stila Stay all day 10-in-1 HD Illuminating Beauty Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 30 1ml ( here )
For some reason I thought this was a primer, so when I went to use it, I was quite surprised when a tinted cream came out instead. Either way, this is a bit too dark for me, but I managed to make it work. It's a nice tinted moisturiser, decent coverage (but little, it's still a tinted moisturiser), looks nice on the skin, blurs imperfection, pores, lines and so forth. Wouldn't mind trying this again.

Loréal Telescopic Mascara here )
This was so good! I even featured it in a favourites post. The wand is almost just a straight stick with the smallest plastic bristles. It gives amazing length and seperation, and the small wand makes it easy to add some volume to the roots. I will definitely buy this again!

Dior Addict It-Lash Mascara 9ml ( here )
The last time I owned a tube of this I absolutely loved it. It separated the lashes and gave the most natural look. It didn't do much, but it did a little something that was perfect for days when I wanted my makeup to be and look very natural. This time was an entirely different story. It did absolutely nothing, but somehow managed to be clumpy as well. There was no lengthening effect at all, which was what I loved last time. It was a bit of a dud. I'm not sure why. It's possible the mascara is still a good one and I just got a bad one this time around, but I'm not going to buy it again and see if I get lucky, or unlucky.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté in 1 Nude Beige 4g ( here )
I love the colour of this, but I think it's gone bad. I tried wearing it and it made my lips really dry and uncomfortable. I set a goal of being really brutal this year in terms of letting go of lip products, and am sticking to it by letting this one go. It's kind of painful, I'll admit I almost took it out and put it back into my collection when it was time to do this post. However, I stuck to it, and what do you know, I haven't missed it one bit since.

Clè de Peau Concealer in Ivory 5g ( reviewhere )
The best concealer in the world. I've said it several times and I'll say it again; if you have this available to you, buy it. It will be the solution to all your skin concerns (at least in terms of covering them).

Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 65 Espiegle 4g ( discontinued )
This was part of my products to use up in 2015 and I just finished it now. About a month and a half too late. Either way I am so excited it's finally done! I pretty much used this every day I wore makeup since May last year, so it almost took a whole year to finish. It was even harder as it's a baked formula, so thank god I loved this. I actually still love it. I'm happy it's finished, but I throughly enjoyed it all the way until the end, and would even consider buying it again (at some point), if it wasn't discontinued.

Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile Eau de Parfum 1.5ml ( here )
This is a nice light and fresh floral. I didn't fall in love with it, but I really enjoyed it. It has notes of rose, peony, musk, cedar, pepper, mandarin, violet, lily-of-the-valley, ambergris and bergamot.

Kenzo Flower by Kenzo Eau de Parfum 1ml ( here )
Quite a classic. It smells of older perfumes, a bit "powdery". If you prefer the newer lighter scents you might not like it. It's quite heavy on the vanilla, which is what made me enjoy this. It has notes of parma violet, vanilla, rose, musk, opoponax, incense, hawthorne, jasmine, blackcurrant and mandarin.
