Favourites: March 2016
Wow how time flies! I know that's a really annoying way to start a favourites post, as everybody says it, but I can't help it. All the snow has disappeared here and I think friday might officially have been the last time I wore my winter coat this year. I am so excited for summer! I don't know why, but I can't remember last time I was this excited for the warm weather to come around. I'm definitely also in a spring cleaning kind of mood, which in relation to makeup means decluttering. More on that in my empties post, now for some products I've been loving the past month.
First I have to mention the Giorgio Armani Maestro UV Skin Defense Primer SPF 50 ( review - here ). I just wrote a full review on this that you can check out if you are interested in more details, but in short; I love it. I start work super early every day, so anything that saves me time in the morning is amazing. Instead of having to wait for my regular skincare to dry, apply SPF, wait for that to dry, apply primer, wait for that to absorb a bit and then start my makeup, I can just do my morning skincare routine, and then apply my primer and makeup straight.
For some reason there's this unwritten rule not to talk about foot products on blogs or youtube. I find that strange, and so I'm breaking that rule today to talk about the Hand Chemistry Heel Hydration Complex ( here ). Feet are so important. You walk around on them every day and if you don't take care of them they can look horrible. Summer is also just around the corner, and there's not much time until you'll be wanting to wear sandals. If you don't usually take care of your feet, now's a good time to start! I apply this foot cream every day after my shower and have been for over a year now. It keeps my feet super soft and nice looking and I'm on my third tube of the stuff. It's a really good treat for the feet, but it's not super greasy or heavy or something that won't ever absorb. If you still haven't found a foot cream you get on with, try this one, it's really good.
I've had the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Space Cowboy ( here ) for some time, but I didn't really start using it until this month. I love it. I apply it the same way I do the Tom Ford glitters, with my finger, and it gives a very similar result. I love keeping this in my makeup bag as it takes a more natural daytime look, say what I would wear to the office, to a much more fun look when I do something after finishing work.
It's been a while since I've felt comfortable wearing a red lip. It's strange as for a moment bright lips was my everyday go-to, but somewhere along the way I started going for much more natural shades, and bolder lip colours fell outside my comfort zone. I've missed fun lip colours though, so I've been slowly "working my way back" with them, and this month fell madly back in love with Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 62 Monte-Carlo ( here ). This is a beautiful sheer red lipstick, that can be built up quite a bit. Even though it's a sheerer lipstick, it's definitely red and definitely noticeable, but it's so easy to wear and you don't need a lip liner. It's also really hydrating and comfortable to wear.
I finally picked up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure ( here ). I bought Luminous Flush a year ago and loved it, and have since really wanted to buy another shade. Mood Exposure is a gorgeous nude pink shade. It goes on the cheeks really smooth, blends out seamlessly and lasts a really long time. The Ambient Lighting Blushes are a really great formula and I wouldn't mind adding even more to my "collection".
The last product I'll be talking about today is a bit different, but it's my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers ( here ). I used to curl my lashes all the time, but for some reason stopped and haven't really done it in a long time. I decided to "whip them back out" this month and I've been addicted to the look. My lashes look so much longer and amazing. I can't believe I've been skipping this step for so long. I also have to give credit to this particular pair. Believe the hype, this really is better than the rest. I bought the Charlotte Tilbury ones and was quite disappointed. Nothing can beat the Shu.
