Here we go again with another months worth of empties! I finished quite a few makeup items this month, and decided to get rid of one or two things. Otherwise I've gotten through a few sachet samples, which I am happy about, and then it's the usual round of body products.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Body Wash 250ml ( here )
Another one of these! Because I do these empties posts, I've noticed I go through one every other month, which I feel is a bit too quickly for the price. After finishing this I decided to order a different tea tree body wash from Feelunique that I am excited to try next. Either way, I do still really like this one, and if the new one doesn't work out, I'll definitely return to the Body Shop version.
The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel 250ml ( limited edition )
I finished the Glazed Apple Body Lotion last month, and this month the shower gel. This was part of Body Shop's limited edition scents for christmas, and I loved this one. It wasn't all that "christmasy", but I loved the fresh scent of green apples. If they repeat this scent next year, I'll definitely buy it again.
Fushi Organic Rosehip Oil 100ml ( here )
I've probably gone through about 20 of these since first falling in love with it. I still love it, I'm still re-purchasing it and have moved straight onto a new bottle.
Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter 300ml ( here )
This is a really good body butter. It makes skin really soft, even really dry skin, but without being super greasy. It also smells really nice, the "Soap and Glory scent" for those familiar, and it's pretty cheap.
Soap & Glory Hand Food Sugar Crush 50ml ( limited edition )
This scent worked better as a hand cream than a body lotion, to me at least. It has a fresh citrus scent with a twist of sweet. It's quite nice, but nothing incredible. The hand cream itself is really nice for daytime use. It's efficient at keeping hands soft and hydrated, but also light enough to not make hands greasy and "unusable".
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levres Barrier Repairing Balm 7.5ml ( here )
This is so good! I added this to my cart just to reach some kind of gift with purchase, or free shipping, or something like that, and I'm SO HAPPY I did. This has been a life saver for my seriously dry lips through the winter months! This actually works. I apply this and after the product wears off my lips are comfortable, soft and I don't feel the instant need to re-apply. Definitely one I'll buy again.
Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner 250ml ( here )
I've heard people raving about the Aussie products for years so decided to finally give them a try. I've also been trying the Shampoo, but that's not finished yet. The conditioner is ok. It's rather light in texture so I ended up using a lot, which is probably why I finished it so much faster than the Shampoo. It hydrates ok, leaves my hair ok, but nothing special. For the price it's decent, but I've definitely used better conditioners that I will prefer buying again over this.
Aveda Color Conserve Daily Color Protect Leave-in Treatment 10ml ( here )
This little sample has served me well on my travels for over a year now. It's just 10ml but it goes a long way. It smells absolutely amazing, makes hair feel like silk, and I am really keen to return to some Aveda products after I've used up some more of my oversized stash.
Cire Trudon Abd El Kader ( here )
This is my favourite candle, hands down. Cire Trudon don't do a lot of scents I like, at least not from just sniffing them in store, but the few I do enjoy, are far superior to any candle from any other line, including Diptyque. Abd El Kader has notes of apple, blackcurrant, clove, ginger, lemon, spearmint, jasmine and vanilla. It doesn't sound like much, but it's just so good, it's almost magical. Whenever I light this I get super efficient and it also calms my stress levels. Probably from taking deep breaths all the time to enjoy the beautiful scent of it.
Fushi Neem Leaf Capsules 60 Caps ( here )
This actually really works at keeping my skin in good condition. I notice when I use it, I notice when I don't use it. If I'm having skin issues I take two capsules a day and it helps clear it up much faster than otherwise. Definitely one to look into if your skin can tend to misbehave.
Fountain The Phyto-Collagen Molecule 240ml ( here )
I've enjoyed quite a few of the Fountain supplements the last few years, but I do think this is the one I've liked the least. I still liked it, but it didn't do anything as good as the others did.
Bioderma Hydrabio H2O Micelle Solution for Sensitive Dehydrated Skin 250ml ( here )
I thought this could be good for removing eye makeup as it's supposed to be good for dehydrated skin, and that is definitely how I'd describe the skin around my eyes. Surprisingly, this irritated and burned my eyes, something which the original pink Bioderma doesn't do. I finished the bottle on my face makeup, and it worked great for that, but I'll be sticking with the original from now on.
Clarins Water Comfort One-Step Cleanser 50ml ( here )
This is a bi-phase micellaire water that you shake up to mix the oil with the water. It's a good makeup remover, I can also use it on eye makeup without it being super irritating. I still prefer my Bioderma, but if that was unavailable for whatever reason, I could buy this.
I just wrote a full review of this, so instead of just repeating myself I'll encourage you to just check that out if you are interested. In short I really enjoyed this and would love to get another bottle.
Darphin Eye Care Anti-Fatigue Smoothing Eye Gel 1ml ( here )
This didn't do much of anything. I can't remember much about it, which usually means it was pretty average.
Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Eyedration Moisture Eye Creme 1g ( here )
This hydrated well, but it wasn't anything all that special and not one I'm interested in buying.
Eve Lom Eye Lift 1ml ( here )
Same goes for this one. Completely fine and ok, but nothing spectacular.
Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser 15ml ( here )
This is a foaming cleanser so for that reason I won't buy it. That aside, it was quite a fun product. It started kind of "foaming" on it's own on my skin and the feeling was quite different. Kind of like an oxygen mask, for those of you that's tried that.
Clarins Santal Face Treatment Oil 2ml ( here )
Clarins' face oils are still worthy opponents to many of the newer ones. This is for dry skin and it really hydrates and makes skin super comfortable. If you have dry skin you should really give this one a try.
Dior Diorshow Maximiser Lash Plumping Serum 10ml ( here )
I love this. It adds length and volume to your lashes instantly and when you apply your mascara on top it looks like you are wearing fake eyelashes. It's amazing.
Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen 01 Deeper ( here )
My favourite liquid eyeliner, ever. Something was slightly irritating my eye the beginning of the month, and I couldn't figure out what it was. Eventually I realised it was this. It's got a 6 month expiration date, and I've had it for 10 months. I didn't even think about because it is just as good and performs just as well as when it was brand new. This is way too much to pay for a liquid eyeliner, but it's really good and well worth it if you've got the extra cash.
Loréal Voluminous Extra Black Mascara 7.5ml ( here )
This is such a raved about mascara, and one I loved using when I was a teenager, so I was quite excited to revisit it and see if it would live up to it's reputation. While I can definitely appreciate how it makes lashes really fluttery and separated, and while it gives a bit of length and volume, I found it didn't really do that much. I can understand that this is amazing if you wear fake lashes or have lash-extensions, but for my lashes it didn't really do enough.
Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Aigle Noir 4g ( limited edition )
I've been holding on to this for ages because it was a gift. I don't use pencil black eyeliners, I don't like how it looks on me. So I never really found a use for this either. This past month I decided enough was enough, I shouldn't hang on to things purely for sentimental reasons when I have not and will not ever use it.
This is my favourite foundation. I've been through about four or five bottles, I'm guesstimating. I already had a backup of this waiting that I've now moved on to. The packaging has changed since I did my review, but the product is exactly the same.
Chanel Nail Colour in 08 Pirate 13ml ( here )
This was my go-to nail polish colour for my feet. I put it away for a while to try and use up other things, and when I pulled it out this month it had gone all super gloopy and off. In the bin it goes. It's the perfect red colour, and should I ever get my nail polish "collection" down to a much smaller number, I'd definitely buy this again.
Guerlain Maxi Shine Lipgloss in 468 Candy Strip ( here )
This is the year I'm cracking down on downsizing my lip products once and for all. In that spirit my free gifts and samples need to go first, at least the ones I'm not using. I do really like this, and have three Maxi Shine Lipglosses in the full size, but not in this colour. I used this the past month and decided it's not all that special, and that I really need to let it go if I am ever going to get to a place where I can buy some new lip products, because it's been ages and I'd really like to.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 06 ( here )
This I've used up completely, and it's all organically used. I didn't try to finish this even for one second. It's a gorgeous nude- brown colour. It's a tinted lip balm, and it smells amazing. I will most definitely, no question buy this again. And would in many more colours as well, if I had less lip products. I will hold off until I've used up all my balm/lipstick hybrids though, until I pick another one up.
