Favourites: February 2017

For the last month of full-on winter I have quite a few long-time staples, some new favourites and a sexy perfume to share.

Review: Burberry Wet & Dry Glow Eye Colour in 002 Nude and 003 Shell

Burberry make some of my all-time favourite eyeshadows. I have quite a lot, and I always return to them when I need something fuss-free that just works. This goes for both the mattes and satin finishes. When Burberry announced they were re-formulating their eyeshadows I was gutted, but of course also had to give the new formula a go.

Review: Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in 'Space Cowboy'

Seeing as we are right in the middle of the "party season" I thought it was an excellent time to write about this glittery little number. These were released quite a few years back, but I didn't pick one up until the sometime last year. Since buying 'Space Cowboy', it has become quite the handbag staple for me - now let me tell you why.

Project 7 Pan: Update #2

This post is a bit late, as I wanted to post it before the new month. Unfortunately I've been basically living at the office for the past week, so I found no time to write it before now. As I've finished quite a few products, I wanted to get this up before my empties post as otherwise that would be a bit spoilerish. I took these pictures last weekend, and in the week since I actually finished another product, which means I've finished 4 of the products still in this project.

Project 7 Pan: Update #1

So, the first update to this project comes a bit sooner than I was expecting to make one! I did say I would update you approximatively every two weeks, and I guess I am sticking to that, but I thought for sure my next update would be at least a few days into November. Either way, I'm updating early for a good reason; I've already used up two items! Yay!

Project 7 Pan Intro

After a lot of back and forth I've decided to do another project pan. I haven't done one in a while as I got a little burnt out doing them, and also I didn't feel I really had many products I felt like panning. To be honest, the reason why I'm mostly doing this now is I realised there's quite a few things I'd love to focus on using up, and while doing that, why not do some posts and share it on the blog?

Favourites: September 2016

First of all I would just like to say sorry for being really vacant on the blog the past month, but my job has just simply required of me to be there and not here. As much as I love blogging, it's a luxury and the first thing that needs to go if I am pressed on time. Besides that, I've also travelled this month, which also didn't help in terms of having extra time. I went to Cannes for 5 days and it was absolutely fantastic! Long-time readers will know I go there quite frequently, and also used to live in Nice, so it's a place I know well. For my favourites this month I'll be sharing some absolute workhorses. The makeup especially, I've pretty much done the same look everyday all month, and I'm still not sick of it! Some of those products are featured this month, a long with just one skincare item and a perfume.

Review: Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadows in Pasiphae, Dione, Callisto & Desdemona

These aren't really all that new and exciting anymore, but as I've been using them a lot recently, and have been considering adding more to my "collection", I thought I'd write another "post-hype" review. I like to do these sometimes as it's very easy to get swept up in all the raves and hypes on blogs and youtube, but then it's really after that's all passed you find out how you really feel about a product.

Favourites: August 2016

After having almost the whole of July off work, August meant going back to work for me, and you'll notice a theme through this post of focusing on office-friendly items. The weather has been still nice here, but we had a week with all rain, giving a nice preview of what's to come. I personally love the fall and colder weather, so I quite loved getting my candles back out and making big pots of tea. Makeup-wise I haven't quite started wearing the darker fall colours yet. I am still doing the whole summery light and natural thing, but I am excited to get the vampy lip colours out soon. For now, here are my August favourites with a nice mix of summer and fall-esque things!

Review: Armani Eye Tint in '9 Cold Copper'

I’ve read and seen raves about the Armani Eye Tints since they were released a few years back, but for some unknown reason never ended up actually trying any of them. After reading another wave of great reviews for these lately, with the release of the new matte eye tints, I decided it was finally time to see what all the fuss was about.

Favourites: July 2016

July was almost entirely a holiday month for me and while I'm sad it's over, part of me is actually quite happy to get back into my routines and feel a bit productive again. I went to Barcelona for my main holiday this year, and I absolutely loved it. I am definitely going back and if you haven't been yet, I absolutely recommend it, it's an amazing city! For my favourites for the past month there's some new products, some I've talked about in the past, and some I've just written reviews on. Keeping with the summer theme - these are all either bronzy warm shades of makeup, something with SPF, or of course just a light wonderful summery perfume.

Favourites: June 2016

So I went on a bit of an unplanned and unexpected break from the blog. There was just a lot of changes happening in June, and I was really short on time, and the blog just had to be one of the things to be put on hold. I am now officially on my summer holiday though, and can't wait to have time to get back into everything. I hope you are all enjoying your holidays, or if it's not just yet for you, that you will when the time comes.

Favourites: May 2016

Summer finally hit Norway by the second half of May and has come full-blown since. The sun is out everyday and it's warm and nice and green. I don't have much skincare this month as I've been sticking to using the same stuff as I've been for a while, but there's quite a bit of makeup this time.

Review: Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette

I've been really interested in getting one of all the bronzer, blush and highlighting palettes that's been released lately as it would be super convenient for travel. Imagine then how excited I was when I saw that this was getting released with not only those three products, but also eyeshadows included!

Favourites: April 2016

April was a long month. Initially we got some nice weather with promises of spring and sun and all the good stuff, then the weather changed it's mind and we got cold, darkness and even a bit of snow! Other than that I had a fairly quiet month with no travelling, but we did paint the apartment which has been really exciting. In the product department I still didn't buy any new makeup, so those products are re-discoveries, but I do have three brand new skincare items (to me) to talk about. Let's get to it!

Review & Swatches: Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in 03 Cocoa Mirage

With all the nude palettes and nude matte palettes that have been released by now, I thought I'd talk about an "old classic", the ultimate-nude-mattes, staple-in-your-collection palette, in my opinion; Tom Ford's Cocoa Mirage.

Favourites: March 2016

Wow how time flies! I know that's a really annoying way to start a favourites post, as everybody says it, but I can't help it. All the snow has disappeared here and I think friday might officially have been the last time I wore my winter coat this year. I am so excited for summer! I don't know why, but I can't remember last time I was this excited for the warm weather to come around. I'm definitely also in a spring cleaning kind of mood, which in relation to makeup means decluttering. More on that in my empties post, now for some products I've been loving the past month.

Favourites: February 2016

It always amazes me how much shorter February seems, even with just a few days less. It felt shorter this year as well, even with an extra day. My month has been nice overall. We had a bit of nice weather, before winter came back with a vengeance. The days are much sunnier, and I get to see some sunlight on my way to and from work so that is a really nice change. I've worn makeup leaning towards pink or purple tones, and I can feel I am definitely ready for spring to come for real.

Review: Too Faced Natural Matte Eye Palette

Even though this has been talked about to death already, I thought I'd do another one of my post-hype reviews on the Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette. This was also my first time trying Too Faced eyeshadows. Actually it's my first Too Faced product at all besides their eyeshadow primer and, spoiler alert; it's definitely not going to be my last.

Project Use-it-up Finale

So finally it's time for the finale of this project! I posted my first post in this series back in January 2014, you can see my first post here , which means it's actually been two years I've been doing this project for. I've obviously added a lot of new products in as I finished others and that way have finished quite a bit, but I am happy I am finishing it now as I want to do other projects this year instead. For now though, let's see how far I got with the final products in this project.
