Favourites: January 2017

So here we are - at the start of a brand new year! Since I decided to skip my December and yearly favourites all together, I have quite a few products I'm excited to share with you today. There's more than these, but as I try to keep these posts limited to 5-6 products, I'll talk about them next time.

Favourites: November 2016

So, here we are at the second-to-last, or perhaps last, favourites post of the year! Usually I skip the December favourites for my yearly favourites post. All the products featured this month are really, really good, and ones I've been using for quite a while. It's all really good stuff, and I'm excited to share them with you. I've talked about some before, but since I've been using them for a while, I felt they deserved a follow-up.

Favourites: June 2016

So I went on a bit of an unplanned and unexpected break from the blog. There was just a lot of changes happening in June, and I was really short on time, and the blog just had to be one of the things to be put on hold. I am now officially on my summer holiday though, and can't wait to have time to get back into everything. I hope you are all enjoying your holidays, or if it's not just yet for you, that you will when the time comes.

Favourites: March 2016

Wow how time flies! I know that's a really annoying way to start a favourites post, as everybody says it, but I can't help it. All the snow has disappeared here and I think friday might officially have been the last time I wore my winter coat this year. I am so excited for summer! I don't know why, but I can't remember last time I was this excited for the warm weather to come around. I'm definitely also in a spring cleaning kind of mood, which in relation to makeup means decluttering. More on that in my empties post, now for some products I've been loving the past month.

Review: Armani Maestro UV Skin Defense Primer SPF 50

As most of you know I'm pretty religious about applying my daily SPF. I apply it every morning after my moisturiser. The extra step doesn't bother me due to all the benefits, but when I heard that Armani was releasing a primer with SPF 50 I knew I had to try it. Who doesn't love a multitasker product?

Use it Up: Update #8

I did kind of just update this project, but I've made a decent amount of progress and finished some products so I figured it'd be fun to do an update. Also, most of the people that project pan on youtube do at least a monthly update, so I guess once a month one the blog isn't too crazy either. Especially these days as I've been super into using stuff up, and basically using nothing but these products and my palette in my pan that palette challenge. Anyway, let's get this post going!

Use it Up: Update #7

This is going to be one of the better updates of this. Not that I've ever done too shabby, to be honest, but this time around I've finished a whopping 6 products. This means I'll also be adding 6 new products at the end, which is a lot. I considered not adding them and just finishing the remaining products by the end of the year, and then being done with the project, but I don't want to do that. I'd rather keep cycling through ten and another ten and another ten products, no matter what year it is or was. Either way, let's get into showing the progress I've made on the products I am still working on, what I've finished and what's going in the bin.

Review: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

Quite a while back I used and reviewed ( here ) the Smashbox Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer. I was very happy with it and always meant to re-purchase, but never did. My skin type has since changed from combination/oily, to dehydrated, so my wishlist changed from the Light version to the regular version. Still I wanted to finish my other primers before trying it again. Then imagine my joy when I received the Photo Finish Primer as a complete surprise present! And now here is my review!

Review: Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

I try to review more of the new things I buy, which means that sometimes old 'classics' gets forgotten. Though you've probably heard and read countless reviews on this cult classic of a primer, I thought I should write a review up nonetheless as it is one of my all-time favourites.

Products I Want To Use Up: Update #5

My last update was in January so I figured as we're heading towards the end of March, now would be a good time to do a little update on my use-it-up project! I've finished one item since last time, and one I'm throwing away, which means I'll be adding two new products to the project as well.

Products I Want To Use Up: Update #4

I figured it was time to do an update on my progress as we've moved into a new year! Especially as I've managed to finish three more products and making good progress with others. If you missed it, I've decided to have this more as an always-ongoing project rather than a finish-by-the-end-of-the-year specific. This means that I'll keep on adding more items as I finish them, always having 10 "on the go".

Review: Guerlain Meteorites Perles Light-Diffusing Perfecting Primer

Last year I received a generous sample of the Guerlain Meteorites Perles primer which I brought with me on my trip to New York. I'd never tried any Guerlain primer before, nor had I considered them to be honest. It was the end of June/beginning of July, and New York was unbelievably sunny, hot and dry. Somehow though, my makeup stayed put and looked nice from early morning until evening. I put it down to this primer and the Urban Decay De-Slick. Once I arrived home, I purchased the full size immediately.

Favourites: October 2013

Apologies are in order for the lack of posts lately as well as October Favourites being incredibly late. I have been ill for almost 4 weeks now and just haven't been able to find the energy. I've decided to push back October Empties until the end of this month as I want to get up posts about the Chanel Holiday collection, the items I purchased at least, so that those of you wanting my opinion on those products can get it while the collection is still available. My exams are coming up which I'm of course nervous but also kind of excited about. Excited because I'm really looking forward to them being over and really enjoying christmas! I'm going to London in the middle of December after exams are done and I am so excited! Sending good luck wishes to everyone else currently rushing to meet deadlines and remembering thousands of pages.

Review: Kate Somerville Serum Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50+

It was love at first use when I tried this for the first time in New York this summer. The weather was really hot and the wind was even warmer and I felt like I had too many layers on my skin. I was sick of applying so many things in the morning, but knew skipping sunscreen wasn't an option. So, I decided to go for a primer and sunscreen in one product. I considered the Chantecaille version, but ended up deciding on the Kate Somerville, partly because I can get Chantecaille in Europe at a later date, but not Kate Somerville.

Favourites: August 2012

These are products that I have used and loved this month. It could be new purchases or old re-discoveries. There won't always be one in every category, as this is not for what I've been using, but products that have really stood out and that has gotten me excited about make up and skincare. Sometimes I might include things from other categories if I feel it is worth a mention, but not always.

Review: Smashbox Photo Finish Light

Anyone that reads beauty blogs will have heard about the Smashbox Photo Finish Light. A staple in many a beauty junkie's collection, I was rather late to try my own hand at this bestseller. Could it possibly live up to it's hype?

Review: YSL Top Secrets Flash Radiance Skincare Brush

I have fond memories of using this primer years ago, when it had just been released. I used it with YSL's then revolutionary Perfect Touch foundation, that also comes with a brush attached, and I have to say the results really were quite impressive, if my memory serves me correct. The latter is what I have been wondering for quite some time, and so I thought I'd give the primer another go.

Paris Haul!

Galeries Lafayette at Boulevard Haussman

This past weekend I visited Paris for a romantic 4 day long weekend and it was amazing as always! It wasn't my first time in Paris, but it was my first time in Versaille and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been!

Review: Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

Truly a cult product up there with YSL's Touche Eclat, Laura Mercier's Tinted Mosturiser, Shu's Cleansing Oil and the likes. I'm sure you have all heard of this one before, a lot of you have tried it, some of you already swear by it, and for those of you still curious, there's this review.

Review: Shu Uemura Stage Performer

I started using Shu Uemura's Stage Performer primer just before christmas last year looking for something to give life back to my pale winter skin. The primer promises instant glow and radiance and as with all primers, help foundation with making your skin look flawless and perfect.
