Review: Chantecaille 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette
Before we say anything, let's all just take a moment and appreciate just how beautiful this palette is. There are more important things in the world than makeup, of course, but when you delve into the makeup world there truly aren't many brands quite as well executed all around as the ever wonderful Chantecaille. This palette proves it.
The 15 Year Anniversary Palette was released a longer moment ago, but it's still available online at certain retailers so I decided to write a review on it after all. I was quite late to the party, thinking I'd missed the train, when I spotted it at SpaceNK in Dublin last month. Having read only glowing reviews I asked the SA to get me one before I had even swatched it.
Fortunately that wasn't a mistake. This palette is perfectly executed and the quality of the shadows are top shelf. The palette holds three colours. A very light beige, a mid-tone "taupe-ish" brown and a darker brown, with a touch of purple. These might not seem that exciting on first glance, but if you spot this somewhere I urge you to take a closer look.
All of the shadows have a beautiful array of pink, silver and gold glitter. The subtle kind, that only translates to a beautiful 'glow' on your lids. It doesn't look all that impressive in the swatches below, but I promise you they are much more exciting in real life. It's only once you've applied them to your lid that you see the how the subtle glitters give a gorgeous "radiance effect". They blend effortlessly and are buildable. There is no fall-out, no creasing and no fading. This literally stayed exactly as I put it on throughout the entire days I've been wearing it. These just might be the best eyeshadows I have ever used!
The palette itself is an absolute beauty. It's a metal kind of colour, where you can almost use the outside of the palette as a mirror. It's sleek and very thin, perfect to take with you anywhere. It feels sturdy and I don't see this ever opening accidentally. Inside the lid there's a big mirror filling the entire space. It also comes with a nice little eyeshadow brush. The eyeshadows can be 'popped out' which means that when I finish one I can buy another Chantecaille eyeshadow and simply put in it's place, letting me keep the beautiful compact forever, if I so wish.
And I do definitely plan on buying more Chantecaille eyeshadows. Perhaps when I finish a shade, but probably before that. Especially as every shadow is huge and will probably take ages to go through. Not that I mind, these are wonderful, excellent even, shadows that I am not looking forward to finishing up at all. If you are so lucky as to spot this somewhere or hunt it down online - I really urge you to get it. Don't worry about the sticker shock, these are undoubtedly certainly worth it.
